Manual does not have any specs. Standard on Lexus cars is 77 ft-lbs for lug nuts for torqueing. I always go a few ft-lbs higher and 80 ft-lbs seems to be my magic number. I wanted them to be as snug as possible for durability and best steering response, but you don't want to over-torque the lugs/nuts either as you might damage the thread. It is the safest figure according to my research.

Makes sense. It does seem like the safe bet.

No it doesn't. Torque specs are based on engineering, not what feels good. Tighter is NOT better. Spec is 103 Nm or 76 ft-lb, and the studs are actually pretty soft so over torque is a really bad idea. Be really happy the guy who put the engines on the airplane you last flew didn't believe a couple of extra ft-lbs is a good idea.

Besides that, most torque wrenches have tolerances built into them so even when they have been recently calibrated (unless you're using a beam type) you can get more or less than you think, so stick to the factory number. 80 ft-lbs with a small mis-calibration could easily be 85 ft-lbs - more than 10% greater than spec. Bad idea.

I installed my spacers last week but didn’t have time to post a pic. Love them! I think I would’ve preferred 15mm in the front just like the rear as I find 20mm is quite a stretch but regardless they’re excellent looking. I noticed a tiny bit of rubbing somewhere in the front on both sides depending how I turn my wheels but very very minimal. Here’s a bad pic I took the day of installation:

+1 with lubox on this one... over torque spec is never a good idea, especially when you haven't checked what kind of bolt, with what kind of stretch, with what kind of hardness it may have been designed for.

I stored my car for the winter but I already pulled the trigger on illuminated door sills which I'll install next spring and am waiting on a sale for a specific CF lip I want and will be buying that around the black Friday week.

I'm sad that I'm 6 months without it though!
