Many of you may know, I'm a carbon fiber junky. Looking forward to what this new intake may look like from ARMA Speed. They are supposed to be debuting it this week At Tokyo Auto Salon. Their intakes usually include the full or as least a partial box, not just the tube.

So it looks like ARMA isn't anywhere close to making their intake available although they debuted a version of it a while ago at Tokyo Auto Salon. I've contacted them a few times and its "still in development" and not ready to be released, with no projected date. HOWEVER, there seems to be another player on the block. GruppeM is a Japanese company that has always seemed to make some nice carbon fiber intakes but, always seemed to focus on European cars. Well, they just introduced a new intake for the RCF. Looks very nice and it is definitely PRICEY! They've got photos and info about it on their Facebook page as well as available for purchase on their marketplace page. May want to check it out. I'm definitely interested.

That's the ARMA intake "prototype" that was the initial reason for this thread but, has not yet been released nor can they give any projection.

 

I initially thought the same thing but, on further inspection it seems very different. The GruppeM appears to have to "ram" air funnels for the intake versus one. I do think ram air is a bit of a misnomer though as I don't believe that the way it is designed that it will increase the velocity of the air going into the throttle body however, I do think this one will pull more are, from the outside, into the airbox versus the others out there. I also like the design of the filter although I wish they would have used one of their filters with an open top versus the capped top. Additionally, I like the fact that it appears I would be able to continue to use my very price LEMS carbon intake elbow as it seems this system reuses the stock elbow. However, I'm very surprised that at a whopping $2500+ for this system that they didn't design/include a replacement carbon pipe considering the ridges in the stock plastic piece that would seem to disrupt airflow a little bit.
