No gains.. I don't know about that one. I agree on the sounds good and expensive part. But, I'm not trippin on HP gains much at all, it's definitely more than stock, and it definitely sounds better than most of the exhausts on the market, IMO. It was worth it to me, I don't regret getting it at all! I love the way it sounds!! Almost F1 like when you're revving it up there!

I've seen the Novel full exhuast system advertised for $14,500 and with headers only at $6,500. Then why in the wide-world-of-sports would the rest of the exhaust sytem cost $8,000? I can appreciate the engineering behind the headers, but I'm having a hard time understanding why the rest of the system would cost $8,000 and it's not even titanium. Novel must have spent some seroius R&D coin on the resonators/mufflers in order to justify the cost of full exhaust, IMO.

http://www.novel-japan.jp/en/exhaust/

I just noticed the novel header has a catalytic converter in it:
Is this for Japan only?

I had no idea. Can someone confirm whether installing this header will cause a CEL to come on. I thought all header systems come without a cat which will make the CEL light come on.

Also can someone confirm the center pipe setup. Are those two secondary cats followed by a resonator? With the valves closed and on a full system is it much louder than stock? I'm looking for a setup that is fairly close to stock sound levels with valves closed i.e. when I want to listen to music or on the phone hands free. With the valves open this setup sounds nice and loud and very exotic as per Novel videos. It would seem to me that they may not be running secondary cats and a resonator in the mid pipe?

Josh please PM me the latest pricing info. Thanks.

Wolfman

Perhaps @boostedGS can chime in, I believe he has the Novel full exhaust on his RC F.

Things I love about the Novel setup is the inbuilt catalytic convertor in header and amazing sound. What I really don't understand is the exhaust design. Why didn't Novel keep a true dual exhaust throughout? boostedGS with his Full Novel exhaust posted dyno numbers and showed a disappointing drop in torque numbers and HP. Even if you factor differences in dyno testing/conditions you are at best finishing flat with stock baseline numbers. Is this a design flaw by novel? I really love the sound but I cannot handle a drop in power especially considering the price of this system.

What? Are you saying going with a Full NOVEL system will result in DROP of perform ace & numbers compared to stock system?

That is Not the system for the GSF.... See below thread # for ACTUAL pics of the NOVEL GSF exhaust:

First off the design is really bizarre. Why would they have it converge to one pipping at the beginning of the catback. And secondly boostedGS did a dyno and numbers are lower especially on torque compared to other dyno numbers we have seen on bone stock RCFs'. I would defer to boostedGS on the dyno numbers maybe am missing something. Going back to the exhaust design I can see it improving low end torque but completely falling flat on its face on higher RPM as the exhaust cannot be evacuated quickly enough at the bottleneck they created at the catback. I believe the design is novel's "secret sauce" to that amazing exotic sound but at the expense of performance. It would be great to have an expert chime in on this, maybe Nick from ARH.

No catalytic converter.

If I remember correctly, my dyno numbers were all over the place, and was not dyno'd on ideal 6th gear, the shop dyno'd on 4th gear. Also, an older Dynojet model was used with a larger drum. The newer model has a smaller drum, so numbers will come out a bit higher as well.

Anyone with a STOCK RCF in SOCAL/LA/SGV area down to dyno sometime? We can dyno our cars together at the same place, same time, same temperature, etc. This would give more accurate #'s to compare with.

That would be the ideal thing. Hopefully, someone would meet with you on this. If I lived anywhere close to your location, I would love to bring my stock RCF to put it side by side with you. I have the same exact RCF combo as yours.
