Lexus coupe Lineage
So Im sure some of you have seen my "butthurt"-ness about the low updates to the 2018 RCF. However I remembered something said by a corporate trainer at Lexus training. What he said was " Lexus runs coupes for 9 years, because it takes that long to get our money back from R&D" that was word for word. Then I was looking at WIKI (see below) the SC400-300 1991-2000 and the SC430. 2001-2010 were ran for that 9 models rotation. They did not do a full update with engine change (sc430) on the 5TH year ]So if I am correct we should see a REAL update on the RC-F on 2019

""n 1996, the SC 400's 1UZ-FE engine design was upgraded to 260 hp (194 kW) from 250 hp (186 kW). These engines were coupled with a 4-speed automatic transmission on both the SC 300 and SC 400 models. A 5-speed manual transmission was only offered on the SC 300 from its debut until 1997.""
""n 2005 for the 2006 model year, the SC 430 was updated, with changes that included redesigned alloy wheels. In late 2005, the SC 430 premiered along with the Lexus marque in Japan; it was manufactured at the Kanji (Kanto Jidosha) assembly site in Japan.[33] The SC 430 was sold in North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia; unlike its predecessor, the SC 430 was officially imported to the British Isles;[34] the old SC 400 had been a popular personal grey import.[17]""
anybody think Im right? and sorry for beating a dead horse over and over again.

I kept my SC400 til 204,*** miles. It was pumping on strong, no issues whatsoever. The only problem I ever had with that car was the main counter-gear in the power steering column box stripped out. I had to replace it, which was a fun project! SC430 was a short ownership. My IS-F was one of only 37 USB with Alpine white interior for 2009. Found out that info AFTER trading it........
