Default Radio turns itself off

I have searched the forum for this and I was not able to find anything. I have been listening to my iPod through the USB connection. Intermittently the audio will be off when I start the car. I need to turn it on and change it back to the iPod. I have tried to look for a pattern as to why it only happens some times, but have not been successful. Any help would be appreciated.

The iPod must be plugged in before the radio boot screen goes away. This includes any remote starts you may do.

I plugged the iPod in about 3 weeks ago and I have not unplugged it since. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Oh. Then another alternative is the iPod is possibly running out of battery in standby and not powering up fast enough when power is reapplied. The car stops charging the iPod as soon as the ignition is turned off.

The car radio can also be finicky with its device integration and fail to access the iPod playlist at startup, resulting in the radio turning off.

That is an interesting idea. The iPod in the car now is an older hard drive based unit, let me switch it with a newer flash memory one and see if that takes care of the problem.

Thanks!
