Hey Rolla,
I am trying to learn how to use paddle shifters. I am looking at the video at points where you are changing gears. Looking at your gauge, I am hearing a beeping noise and viewing what appears to be a red flash indicating that you need to shift asap. Till now, I have been shifting gears at 5k because I am worried if I hit redline, I may cause problems. If I upshift when the red flash appears, it should be perfectly safe correct?

yes you would be safe

 

The car's peak power comes at 7100 rpm and redline is at 7300 rpm so you can go up as close as possible to 7300 rpm before shifting to get maximum acceleration. Rev limiter at 7300 rpm will prevent any engine damage. All the power lives up high in the rpm band so keep it up there.
