Default Need advice on torque vectoring diff

Hey guys - I'm about to pull the trigger on a '15 RCF - has all options besides the diff option. How important is this option? I do not track....

I can only speak for myself. I absolutely love it! I do not track my car either, but i find the extra assistance in helping the rear end of this big coupe turn very helpful even on the streets. Could I survive without it? Yes, but I also do love the carbon fiber bits

^^ what he said. If you don't track, then the CF pieces alone should be enough to sway you

Negligible difference in weight, power and steering for the common driver.
Price difference not so negligible.

Plenty of vinyl Carbon Fiber wraps at <$100 if the CF looks are what sway you.

I have the TVD and on turns it is definitely noticeable. You can feel the power shift to the rear wheel. Its pretty obvious if you go and test drive a non TVD. It isn't something that you need to have. If you can find a good deal on one without it doesn't really matter bc the RCF is still considered a great car regardless.

I just bought my 2015 With the TVD and I wanted it on purpose to reduce the amount of understeer this car supposedly has. I have enjoyed all 1700 miles that I have driven of it so far.

Thanks guys - I think I'm going to hold out for a vehicle with the TVD - the one irritant is it seems most sales folks don't understand this - most responses are it has a LSD! Even ads don't really specify this. There's definitely some deals to be had so I'm being patient.
My other cars are a '15 M4 and '14 S5 so I really need an RCF!

the TVD was full of understeer to me. the torsen was the opposite.

What I noticed when I test drove my RC-F with the TVD was very controllable oversteer. I didn't test drive one without TVD though.

I've owned both with and without TVD - get one with TVD. Plus, the carbon fiber looks cool as hell.

You must love coupes. I had a 2015 S5 as well and its very different from the RC-F. Do you have the torque vectoring in your S5 as well? I did and I felt it when I was taking corners and sweepers. I am not sure about the RC-F TVD as I have not driven one. All I can say is that the RC-F torsen rear is more playful than the S5 with TVD. I think this is more about the understeer in AWD vehicles but am not sure.

You have to play with the settings. Normal=understeer, slalom = controllable oversteer, track = neutral and balanced. Of course, any of these settings can be combined with eco, normal, sport and sport+. I find track at home of the freeway and slalom on the streets

I do have the Sports diff on the S5 - the S5 has an APR II tune; pulley and AWE exhaust; dps - definitely a blast off the line and amazing cornering....the more I research, I think I'll hold out for the TVD.
