Rolla....I have had a sikky tube, then went takeda intake, now I finally rest my intake with the AEM intake. I love it...entire stock air box gets removed, then a AEM box gets bolted to the chassis, paired with a K&N come filter, and topped off with a CF cover.
Thanks. I saw the AEM and by the looks of it, it is very laborious to install since you are removing a lot of stuff. Is it not? Also, what type of difference in noise do you notice vs the stock CAI? Thanks very much.

took me an hour to remove and install everything...not too bad. Sound is great, revving the engine, you can hear the cone intake sucking air....I love it

That sounds great close to what I am hoping for. I take, it is more audible than the Takeda? Also, how much louder was Takeda compared to OEM? Really appreciate it.

Rolla....PM me your number, I can send you some good pics of the unit today my friend. I as well was searching and searching for the right “sound” and “look” in an intake. The takeda has no sound different then stock, as well as the sikky intake tube. With the entire OEM air box deleted, and all vacuum lines capped, this one has a hell of a sound, especially in WOT.

Thanks man. Will PM you my number later on today. Would be great to see what it sounds like. Much appreciated.
This video motivated me to look into intakes (after I had dumped the idea several times) once I am through with the list of to-do I have on my RCF. The intake sounds so amazing with the E46 CSL-like loud intake box noise at 0:51. Even if it is worth minimal gains, the sound alone makes it worth it.
Wow...didn’t know a 2UR can sound like that...someone’s gone camping in my pants cuz now there’s a tent...
LOL...Yeah, it sounds incredible and really has me tempted. My theory is, it has a big cone filter and a E46 CSL style big carbon fiber shield/box on it.
I had an HPS intake tube in blue. Looked great but after a while it seemed like it got really soft. I have no proof but I felt like it might deform under load. So I swapped it out for a Sikky tube. I liked the look of the Sikky and it was well made. But I decided I wanted more of a stock look so I went back to the factory intake tube with an R&R racing heat shield. I know this may sound crazy but I feel like it runs better with the factory tube, but this is just my impressions.
so does the under hood intake sound overtake the the piped in cabin stereo sound?
I have heard from owners that some of these especially with the conical filters and metal pipes etc. are louder than stock CAI so they "drown out" the noise of the piped in noise. Again, maybe an owner can chime in on this.
