Very respectable run. Despite the claimed 3.3 0-60 time for the snake, off the line, the RC F is usually the faster car in video comparisons.

The Viper will catch the RC F with its 646 HP, but the Viper is absolutely terrible off the line with no traction control.

This is a generation 1.5 Viper that was built in the 90s. It made about ~ 450 HP and had a 0-60 mph time of around 4.2 seconds or so. It looks like a close match on paper (and this video).

not only do the new Vipers have traction control....they have launch control, as well.

^^^^This is Correct & it also has about the same 450 lbs. of torque. Mine's just around 500 on both, but most of these Gen. I & II Vipers are pretty close, just about 50 hp & 50 lbs. torque seperating them. In most of them you just have to roll off the line (i put 3.55 gears in mine, stock come with the 3.08's) & then get on it after a certain distance. Tires have A LOT to do with it also, i can be going 80-90mph & get on it in 4th gear & it will get squirrely with you, it's one of the Most Dangerous cars i've ever owned. The Torque will Eat you Alive if you've never been in a car that has that much. You can look on the internet about how many accidents involving Vipers & it's usually driver error & most of the time it's one car accidents. It's Not your typical just Fast high HP car. jmo

Dr.Rick KNOWS his Stuff Man, the Traction & Launch Control made ALL the Difference in the World on these cars THIS was supposed to be my next vehicle (blue by the way) but i just happened to see the blue mica RCF on the showroom floor when i took my wife to pick up her LS460 & well, i guess i can wait another year or two. But, i do Love my Vipers & Porsche (they always said Opposites Attract).

You are right...I just researched it. It was announced in 2012 for the 2013 Viper SRT at the New York Auto Show.

.
Have you seen a lot of video comparisons of the RCF vs Viper where they launch off the line? This is the very first I recall ever seeing so curious reading the above 'usually the faster car"' comment if there are a bunch more? Know you certainly pay more attention to them than I do so interested in seeing some of the others.

. If you look at this video, the RC F puts it to the pavement and hits 60 mph (approximation) before the Viper. This is nothing out of the norm for this car. It does the Same in most runs against the M4. I am citing real world driving experience. The RC F TVD in track mode with traction enabled is superglue.

I am sure the Viper with stability and traction control is another story. My reference is to the Pre-2013 Viper..

This is a 2015 Viper. See how the RC F pulls harder as they start to race. Ultimately, the higher HP wins.

Another example of the F putting down the power off the line (forget Godzilla).
