wrong. theory is clean as a whistle. reality quite messy. my experience is the same as the other poster. there's quite a bit of variance between tire makes/models. between two same tires from same OEM, sure, pretty damn close.

Actually I'm done arguing with you guys. These are the dimensions for the PSS and the S-04 from Tire Rack. Believe it or don't. I really don't give a darn at this point. I was just trying to be helpful here.

You said it yourself.

Thread width (contact patch to the road for traction): 11" pss vs 10.2" so4
So for the performance prospective it is a "smaller" tire. Also from viewing perspective, it does look smaller by 0.8" from the rear of the car.

"Unfortunately there isn't an industry standard that establishes a single procedure for how to measure tire tread widths. And since tire manufacturers can use different methods, their published tread widths would only be meaningful when compared to other tires measured the exact same way.

This makes it challenging to compare tread widths of one tire brand to another, most tire manufacturers have simply chosen to eliminate tread width dimensions from their brochures and websites.

Because tread width is still a dimension of interest to our customers, Tire Rack has established a common measurement method to address this issue" -tirerack.com

Yes I did say it myself, but only about the tread width. All other damsons are the same. You guys are saying it's smaller in diameter and etc and that is simply not true.

And yes, there is no industry standard for measuring tread width, so in reality the tread width difference between the PPS and S-04 may not be that great.

Does my pict look narrow to you? That's an S-04 295/30/19 on 10" RCF wheels.
