By your own admission, you've never done that with the mufflers in place, so it's just speculation. Have the car on the air right now, and there's absolutely no space to hit the upper tips with a mallet. And even with a hammer, there's less than an inch of travel, and you'd scratch the crap out of everything there. And the lower ones can only be hit at a severe angle, and from the bottom only. So your input doesn't help anybody who wants to do this with the mufflers in place. I could speculate too. Had enough of you, and since you don't even own an RC-F, down where you belong: my ignore list

Anyways...anyone looking to get the 2016 tips...just buy a 2016 RCF


(maybe and easier fix for those than dont want to hammer the exhaust, tips, tubes, bumper, cats, dogs, etc)
