the RC-F is very snug, as my buddy said, you need a shoe horn to squeeze into it.

I find the RC-F to be very snug for my frame, justification to lose some weight I guess. but I doubt it will help with my overall build, I was a body builder from 1986 until 2003 and have very wide shoulders (58") and chest (50") and thick quads (28").

Even dropping 60lbs I doubt will do much except get my beer keg belly out of the way of the steering wheel.
Maybe z/28 is different? No clue. COULD have been a Zl1 I was in (always get them confused in person). This was like a year ago. Haven't been in an RCF yet. But I would say the Camaro I was pretty close to the same size as my ISF in cabin room. Then again at the time of me being in the Camaro I was driving a Z71 Tahoe which is Huge! That could have had something to do with it haha

I test drove one a bit ago because my mother was thinking about getting it. Customer service was awful so she decided to leave it, coincidently she is looking at an RCF now! The ride quality in the GTR is not as bad as people say. I personally liked it. But I am a bit of a GTR lover and apologist . Compared to the RCF no idea, haven't been in one yet .

OP,
Just talked to one of my buddies and discovered he used to work on GTRs! Said to steer clear of MY2009 but everything else should be good. He said he never saw a year other major mechanical issues whilst he worked on them. He did say watch out for the cost of tires!

Just got back from my RC F test drive, and all I can say is, Oh my!

Not your typical test drive, went for an hour. The dealership is about 5 minutes from an unrestricted portion of A62 (autobahn). Immediately pulling out of the dealership I knew this was going to be special. Approaching the on-ramp, no cars in front of me, hands firmly on the wheels, and off we go. Got up 130MPH in no time and just cruised at that speed for about a minute, slowed down to 100MPH after passing a few cars and trucks, then wide open again to 140MPH, felt in complete control during the gradual turns through the hills. Backed down to 80MPH and then got back full on it to see how it pulled from that speed, again, very impressive power. Was in Sport+ and absolutely love the engine roar and exhaust. What did surprise me was when I slowed down fairly quickly, rev match kicked in and was at a high rpm, caught me off-gaurd, didn't look down to see what it rev matched to, but it had to be at 5500 or above.

Took the Birkenfeld exit to experience some back road twisties, this was my favorite part of the test drive. Couldn't believe how well the RC F handled the curvy roads, had perma grin the whole way back to the barn. I never drove a car that handled as well as the RC F. When I went for my M4 test drive, the roads were wet or damp, so I didn't have the chance to really put the M4 though its paces, but will probably go back for another test drive just so I have a good comparison.

I'm 6'3", 210lbs, and although the M4 has like 14 seat adjustments, I felt much more comfortable in the RC F. In fact, the whole cabin vibe was much better than the M4. It had the Mark Levison package and loved the sound quality.

The only fault I could find, is that there was some wind noise coming from the windows when going above 100MPH. Tried cycling the windows, but just couldn't get rid of the wind noise. It wasn't terribly loud, but it was noticeable. Has anyone else experienced this? Or it could have just been an anomaly, dunno.

All in all, a great experience and I've got some serious thinking to do.

Not sure but I think the Z/28 might have the Recaro Competition seats, which are very similar to the RC F seats in design, which is where the snugness comes from.

I test drove an RC350 F-Sport with the sporty seats and they had the same design and feel my Camaro did and I felt more comfortable in them than I the RC F seats, but I wanted the V8 not the V6 so the seats were a moot point, I have adjusted to them.

don't have the wind noise in mine and I've pegged it at the limiter, roughly ~168 mph. are you sure the doors were secured and the windows went back up (they come down slightly when you open the door like the Challenger windows do).

I'm the same size as you (6'3, 210) and every time I get into my RCF after being in other cars I appreciate the feel and snugness.

It doesn't feel small, or cramped and tight... it feels form fit, like a good suit.

Yes, it does handle well, and I haven't seen anything inside or out that would qualify as POS. Mine is actually put together quite well and impresses me every time I drive the car. And I came from a GS F Sport, which is nicer inside than the RC-F. From the outside, just because it doesn't have every crease known to man and look "boy racer" doesn't mean it is a POS. To each his own.

Not really, other than I'm more confused than ever. The problem is that I just don't know what I want.

My friend lent me his M4 for the day, and I drove the crap out of it, like he wanted me to. I then went for another test drive in the RC F later that evening with just my wife in the car, so I was able to do some spirited driving. Performance and handling definitely go to the M4, but for some reason, and I can't put my finger on it, I'm just not drawn to the M4 like I am to the RC F.

It's a good thing I haven't sold my other car yet, because it's giving me some time to think things through. But again, I'm not sure what's to think through. I guess I'm just waiting for someone to throw some cold water in my face and tell me to wake the F@%$ up and get in the game...lol.

Maybe, because the M4 sounds like cr*p or RCF interior is more modern?

My problem with BMWs is the design. They design them to be aesthetically just a "car". The RCF and the GTR are works of art IMO. The lines of those two are beautiful. When I bought my ISF I could have gotten an M4 or an AMG. I was even looking at an Evo X at the time. Those cars are better than the ISF in terms of measurable but I LIKED the ISF the most out of all them. My advice is go test drive the GTR and then choose which car out of all the ones you're looking at makes you the happiest. Don't look at performance or how you think the car will make others feel about you, pick the car YOU want because YOU want it.

That's part of my hang-up with the M4, it just doesn't much for me. You know that feeling when your walking out of a store and you see your car all by itself in the parking lot, and you say, "damn, my car looks good." I can't say that about the M4, but I can about the RC F. I also don't like the way I sit in the M4, way too high for my liking. The RC F gives me more of that cockpit feel.

This, perhaps, is the cold water in the face I was looking for. Truly appreciate your input/advice.

Good advice and agree 100%.
