Default Low fuel warning with only 16 miles left?

Hey gang, just curious if my car is the only one. Fuel warning comes in with at least 50 miles left in most other cars. I was watching fuel level and range, and was very surprised to see the warning light with only 16 miles left. In fact, didn't fuel up on purpose to see if the fuel warning light was not functioning. Took the range down to 10 before fueling up, and tank only took 15 gallons (out of 17.5). Disappointed at the real-life range of this car (not fuel mileage, before smart-a$$ comments start pouring), with only 15 usable gallons. Has anybody run the range below '0'? I'm almost sure there's at least one usable gallon left in there, but I don't feel like finding out on purpose. Curious if somebody else has done that out of necessity. Thx.

I ran mine down to 2!! It took 16 something to fill up. I think there is always going be between 1 and .5 gallons left for good measure.By the way I got a red warning banner and my navigation came up and showed 5 nearest gas stations listed!! Did that happen to you?

Yes, even though I didn't have it in map mode. That should get your attention, right? Ha ha. But with only 16 miles of supposed range, that's no good on a trip. You need to keep an eye on fuel, which I always do, so no issues. But was surprised to see the light with so little range.

You didn't say when you got your warning light. Remember what your range was? Just want to make sure my car is 'normal'. Thx.

I asked how many miles of range you had when you got the yellow warning light. My car had 16. Curious how many you had. Thanks man.
And the map thing came up right after the warning light, maybe with 15 range miles left.

You know it was a while ago, but it seems it was less than yours, maybe 10-12

Excellent. Thanks man. Just wanted to make sure it's normal, and it is. That means most people will never see that freaking light. Ha ha. But most importantly, the lesson here is you need to watch your fuel level/range on this car, especially when traveling.

Mine did this today as well (at around 15-17miles remaining). Fuel light came on, navigation showed POI information for gas stations nearby which I thought was cool. Only thing I didn't think was cool was being notified at that low of a fuel range.....I'd like a little more notice so I don't get stranded since I don't pay attention to the fuel gauge that often. Guess I'll have to start paying attention to it more often now.

You got that right. Especially when running in Sport+ and manually shifting, I think I can see the fuel gauge actually moving as I blast by. I remember getting 8mpg with my 1970 Barracuda AAR, 3 dueces at full song, of course gas (SUNOCO 260) was 50 cent a gallon!!

My warning light comes on everytime at 20 miles remaining, at which point it finds me the nearest gas station on the gps.

HAHA...the best I am getting with the F is 12 miles to the gallon. Of course, I am not driving it in eco mode. You can definitely see the fuel gauge move when in sport +, manual.

The car also veers to the right whenever I near a Sunoco station.

Hey, fuel efficiency is not why any of us bought this NA V8. Any of you Brits buying this ride better have deep pockets for the petrol.

My warning light and navigation to the nearest station has gone off at the same range, about 15 miles.

I ran mine down and at 5 miles range the map came on and the voice recognition said "Yo, dumbass. Do you really want to walk to the nearest gas station?".

My IS F light comes on at 23 miles..

I've pulled a Kramer and gone 50 miles past ZERO

At normal driving conditions !

I have also ran out of fuel drag racing at the track.. That was fun during a pull..!!

Most amount of fuel I have ever filled was 16.5 gallons..

If I fill at zero, I get in approx 15 gallons in our 16.9 gallon tank.

The reserves seem to be approx 2 gallons from zero ( under normal driving )
