Default Interested in a convertible RC F?

During the Lexus USA National Dealer Meeting, it was announced there would be an RC F convertible.

Personally, I don't think many of these cars are going to turn up at track days, so I think open top options will rival coupes for sales. What do you think?

It's nice to have a convertible version, although I prefer the coupe.

As for sales, for some models the convertible version can even outsell the coupe version by quite a lot ...

Oh, for sure. The RC F C could very well top the coupe in sales.

I could see an RC Coupe to compete with the BMW M6 convertible. It makes no sense keeping the IS-C line since that was a coupe anyway and it wasnt all that popular. As long as they make it look nice, convertible tops have a way of making the best looking cars look crappy compared to hard top coupes.

going to be really heavy with a hardtop convertible. Not a convertible person, they ruin the performance aspect of the car

I was wondering this very thing when I saw a convertible M4 in my building today. Hope it happens.

I'm only interested in the convertible, especially if they manage to retain the styling unlike what they did with the 2IS.

This is wonderful news. I like options. With the IS 350 C I'm currently driving I appreciate the option of dropping the top when I want yet still have a hardtop at other times. Granted it's not going to be a track monster but it isn't supposed to be. This will be a boulevard cruiser with the option of light spirited mountain driving. But I'll be honest. With that top up and you get a driver to run both a coupe and a vert back to back the trial run times would be negligible. In the normal course of city driving and after dinner parties I'll take the option of dropping the top and parking it in front of the beach any day! Yeah baby!

The way they're unveiling it is very cool. The fact they're unveiling a hardtop convertible concept is very promising as well. Here's to hoping it looks somewhat realistic and not like something they'll never produce.

Soooo, my wife sent me a pick and wants THIS car. Oh boy, better start saving up. Lol.
Got me thinking though that maybe she just likes the view. Two tickets round trip would be much cheaper option.
