Thanks for posting. Can you post the website where you checked your VIN? I would like to check as well. My front two were already replaced and I think the rear one is the low pressure fuel pump. Is that correct? I would like to check my VIN. Thanks.

Thanks brother. Do you know if they reflash the ECU? I have the RR Racing ECU software tune. Would it wipe it out? Let me know if you have any info on that.

I got an email from Carfax and checked the NHTSA website. Appears to be 2015-2022 RCF, GSF, & IS500 affected. The notice is just the initial notice and says they will replace the low pressure fuel pump. Nothing about an ECU reflash like the old TSB for a noisy low pressure pump.

Thanks. I will confirm with Lexus as well. That is good news as I don't want the reflash to wipe out my RR Racing software ECU tune. Thanks.

If Lexus releases a TSB for this, then we'll know for sure if ECM programming is required.

My guess it's likely to need an ECM flash, as the fuel pump operation seems to be dependent on the ECM parameters (think about the buzzy fuel pump issue that could be addressed with an ECM flash)

I've just replaced this low pressure fuel pump last week after a 3 months hassle to get the part, when I went to the dealer to buy it they said must be ordered from Japan ok placed the order typically it's 4-6 weeks wait then after a month paid them a visit to check they said Toyota Japan rejected the order twice until we told them the car is broken and sitting at our dealership we need this part, they literally had to lie and it worked but guess what they told them the part number is updated. I think this is related to this subject and maybe not a programming or flash related.

I'd be more concerned about them denying it because of the ecu tune.

Anyway you can get that part number? I will not take my car to the dealership. Techs will hate working on it; fixed bucket seats make it so much harder to get in the back of the cabin and I have a rear seat delete in place of the factory back seats as well. I'll just purchase the pump or see if they will provide it free of charge (not likely unless they'll be doing the work). Maybe, even put an aftermarket pump instead (walbro, aeromotive, etc.)

Because it was a Japan order there is no part number in the bill/receipt, will call the parts advisor and get you the number this week.

Btw forgot to mention, because I don't like Lexus dealer here in Dubai first I have tried ordering the pump from yoshi parts and lexuspartnow and both said no stock and no order. who actually helped me was Toyota parts not Lexus.

Okay, thank you! It makes sense that they're holding the parts because of a known issue. The part you got is probably the same part they'll eventually release as a recall replacement.

So if I do not see it on the NHTSA and Toyota recall pages, I assume the vehicle is immune to this ? Mine is a late 2022 model so perhaps the VIN cut off is related to some kind of timeline for parts / material supply chain issue.

I'd really hate the Lexus dealerships performing any sort of complex. The clowns working there always do some kind of BS to my cars when I go for basic oil change. Either be it small scratch inside or outside or sloppy work sad state of affairs of current America. I could not imagine them doing any sort of interior work with quality at all.

Not a lawyer, however:
As this is a Safety Recall, not replacing it with this free OEM service/part could land you in potential loss of insurance/coverage/lawsuit in the event of an incident/accident weather you are at fault or not.

Hopefully this doesn't cause a bunch of confusion since we don't yet know what exactly Lexus will replace. However, I do see a part number change in 2022 for the "PUMP ASSEMBLY, FUEL WITH FILTER" what's odd is that they don't show this as a supersession of the old part number.

2015-2022 Fuel Pump: 23220-38090 [shows as 'currently unavailable']
2022-2025 Fuel Pump: 23220-31330

Since the new pump is not listed as a revision/supersession, then [just looking at a parts diagram] there's no way to know if it is actually a drop in replacement or if some other parts in the basket changed also.
