Default Ride height

I have swift lowering springs. My fender liner randomly ripped off on both sides in the front. Replaced them correctly and they ripped off again same day after a hour of driving. I purchased the car with the springs already on them. Not sure how long they been on the car as I only had it for 8 months now. Could it be the springs are wearing out? I also have 20s that came with the car. Plan on going 19s soon.

Do you know the width & offsets of the wheels at all, or at least the tire size? I've had Swift springs for over 6 years now on stock wheels and spacers. No issues with the liners. So I'd suspect there something with your wheel setup.

I'm also lowered on Swifts and don't have any rubbing issues with my aftermarket wheels (19x9.5/10.5 +30 offset) and OEM tire size.

Tires might be too tall/taller than stock? Wheels and tires specs?

The front are 20x10 not sure the offset, no spacers. but the tire is 275/30 for the last 8 months driving 3-4 days out of 7 were fine.

That's only half inch taller than factory size front tires, But combined with the lowering springs and added tire width is what could be causing it. Where exactly are the liners rubbing before they get ripped off, can you tell? Maybe you've just been driving more aggressively now? Have you checked the shocks for any signs of leaks?

When I replaced them I didn't notice any leaks as that was my first thought. When I put my hand under the fender I feel a real small amount of room on the top of the tire so the slightest bump on some roads I can hear the tire make contact to the liner for just a second. When I do drive aggressive it's usually in a straight line. When it happened I was making a left turn that I always make on that specific street of my town. Then the second time I made another left turn somewhere else and it happened again. Driving straight it was good. Even did a few pulls it was good. Just the turns made it rip off. Made plenty of turns and it never contacted like that in the last 8 months of owning it. 20s came with the car. I'm assuming that and the springs together is why it's ripping them off all of a sudden. Never been a fan of 20s as I plan on 19s. Just saving the money to get them.

Sounds like the wheel offset and/or spacers used on the rims before you got it is the problem.

Question, when the springs were installed, did you happen to remove the bump stop or notice if it was still there?

Never heard of a bump stop. Not sure if it was there. The springs were already on the car when I bought it.

It is the middle piece here

https://lexus.oempartsonline.com/oem...unt-4868024150

It keeps the shock from compressing too much to limit the travel there by keeping the tires from hitting the body.

Now mind you, having over sized tires doesn't help your situation.

I didn't notice to look that much at it when I replaced the liner. I ordered another set so I'll make sure to look into that. Car came with 20x10 in the front. Tire is 275x30. Not a fan of 20s as I plan on 19s soon. Just saving some money to get the wheels I want. Would that help?

@BigRCF Though, the 19 inches look a little "smallish" on the RCF, the 20 inches are purely for aesthetics. 19s with OEM size (or slightly wider), will help you in more ways than you can think. Here are some benefits

- Smaller rolling circumference (your overall wheel/tire circumference will reduce and will result in shortening of the final drive back to OEM. You will notice more lively behavior and will feel more torque in the midrange due to the shorter gearing).

- Less weight (your 20s with the bigger tire are most likely heavier than the OEM wheel/tire combo weight of around 48 lbs per front and 51 - 52 lbs rear so you will have less rolling inertia)

- Steering weight (will feel lighter and more direct/responsive. You will feel less kick backs due the sidewalls giving some cushioning over bumpy surfaces)

- Your speedo will be more accurate.

etc.
