RC F’s main competitors
You should pay attention and read my post closely. I am not talking about the G82 competition. I even edited that part out in your previous response to my post to make it clear and to zero in on just the RCF part. I conceded that point a few posts back that G82 competition is the better car factually in every way except maybe size and no one is disputing it from what I can see. I am just talking about the behavior of the transmission in the RCF segment of the video strictly and the delay I am seeing in the video.
I am not telling you what to do. It is a free forum for anyone to express their opinions and you can do whatever you want. Freedom of speech, right? I am specifically talking about when you respond to my post on how you frame it keeping my comments in context. I will leave it at that.

What about the M2 vs the RC F? I would guess around a track, the newer M2 does better than a base RC F. I think in a sprint, from a dig or rolling start, the RC F would win after passing triple digit speeds with its higher top end power.
I have mentioned already how it wasn’t until MY21 the base M4 finally surpassed the HP figure of the RC F. Below is how the base M2 HP numbers compare over the years. With the MY23, the M2 turns into a handful with the extra horses when comparing it to the RC F. Also interesting to note the M2 starting MSRP was in the mid $50k in its early years, but now with MY24 the base M2 starting MSRP is $64,195, which is not far off from the MY24 RC F starting MSRP of $68,295.
M2 Base HP/torque figures
2016: 365 HP / 369 lb-ft torque
2017: 365 HP / 369 lb-ft torque
2018: 365 HP / 369 lb-ft torque
2019: 405 HP / 406 lb-ft torque
2020: 405 HP / 406 lb-ft torque
2021: 405 HP / 406 lb-ft torque
2022: Not in production
2023: 453 HP / 406 lb-ft torque
2024: 453 HP / 406 lb-ft torque

I’m going to get skewered for this but I think the RCF competitors were back in 2015…the F80s, the n/a RS5s, etc.
With snails and electric power and updated technology the RCF is a Sega Genesis competing against the PlayStation (did I just date myself? lol).
but I like retro stuff…and I own a sega genesis not because it outperforms but it calls back to the good old days and plain old nostalgic power. I mean call of duty is cool but has anyone played Sonic again??…it’s great! lol…I don’t think I made a good case for myself…lol
dont mind me… 😂 ⬆️⬆️⬇️⬇️⬅️➡️

All I said was that you should pay attention by reading the post closely to understand what the other person is saying because often you clearly misinterpret my posts and it becomes a frustrating experience and a waste of time for me to clear the optics of it by defending myself. The G82 argument was a non-starter, yet you kept repeating it. Not sure where the whole talking to my child thing came from when paying attention is the first thing to do while trying to comprehend what the other person is saying.
I never talked about G82 anywhere in those posts yet, you kept repeating it as you were assuming without evidence that I was trying to imply RCF is as good as a G82 Competition. You clearly stated the RCF was in SPORT+ mode based on what you could hear and then when I pointed out how the ASC is not even in the RCF TE and that it sounds the same in every mode, your argument shifted to how the reviewer claimed it was in SPORT+ mode. I was raising questions because of the clearly audible transmission behavior and plausible theories to why it happens. Raising questions and pointing out inconsistencies is a big part of what I do for a living and it is never frowned upon by people who understand critical thinking.
And yes I did express my opinions - you just didnt like them lol. The YouTuber stated he was in sport +, i dont believe hes lying....warming up the transmission is not gonna change his opinions as the G82 still would have been better in every metric as he concluded...so it was not a "useless" review. Have a good weekend.
If the only thing to come out of the review, was to determine which one is the better car then there is no review needed. Everyone knows that already which one is the better car. What is the point of the review then?
A comparison is also about showcasing each car at their best and really giving people a chance to view and hear features and capabilities of each cars so that they could form their own opinions as well. Even if a car is the clear loser objectively, it still can be shown as a great car by how it is presented properly to its potential. It is not just about determining, which car is superior at least in my opinion. They drove each car on public roads, driving them 30 - 40 mph and the RCF (I believe based on all of the evidence and experience) clearly not properly warmed up or in SPORT+ mode because of how my video shows a completely different behavior at max attack than the one in the video. The engine and transmission was in limp mode. Then they complained about the delay in the transmission when that was not the fault of the car and because of their lack of understanding. They did not even take the time to properly understand the car and what I personally believe, properly warm the car up before trying to show case its capabilities. Totally pointless and useless review. That is my opinion to the OP.

Dude, Im not reading all that...you can choose to not respond to my posts...doesnt affect me one way or the other. I will continue to state my opinions and you can continue to state yours...no need for the back and forth.
Since a moderator has eyes on it, I will be careful in how I word it. This statement itself shows the issue I am trying to highlight without much success. You let emotions and bias get in the way of you reading the person while skimming over the details resulting in the other person being put on the defensive. I would normally say, if you do not like my posts then just ignore them. You have called me a fanboi in the past out of anger and also showed me screenshots of a posts of this person who had choice words about me in a PM (you tried to hide his identity, but I know who that is, believe it or not). How this all connects to my recent comments, your bias kept telling you that I am trying to imply RCF is as good as G82 competition when I never wrote it nor did I mean it.

Even if you disagree with me, you have no right whatsoever to make condescending comments to me. I won't go into details and escalate the situation further.
I stand 100 percent by my comment that it was a totally useless review. Again, you are glossing over the fact that I said the G82 competition is superior to the RCF being newer and more modern in terms of engineering and technology. I had already gotten that out of the way before the review was even posted. Not sure why you keep repeating it when already I have said that way before.

Likewise. Right back at you. If you ignore my posts that you don't like and do not reply to my posts, I can guarantee there will be no back and forth since I make it a point to never instigate them.

I didn't directly reply to you, I replied to the conversation in general. You made it a point to quote what I said in your post and "suggested" I pay attention and read your posts closely. You also said I was emotional and bias which I find ironically hilarious.
As CVT mentioned the RCF really doesn't have any competitors since every car in its class is now leagues ahead of it....the RCF powertrain and tech is from the stone age. If you are shopping for a new car it would be foolish (unless your a lexus fanboy) to buy a new RCF with better options out there....where it makes a ton of sense is in the used car market if you are looking for a car that doesn't do anything great but is generally well balanced and extremely reliable.

To muddy the waters even more…😂
People associate performance metrics to quality far too often. Basing a car to do things that 95% of people won’t be able to do legally in the streets anyway.
Faster doesn’t always mean better if it doesn’t suit your tastes. If it did…we’d all be in electric cars.
If you own an RCF you didn’t want a Japanese sporty car that beats them all that gets eye popping magazine times…that car is called a GTR and it was doing it well back in 2008 (not as much anymore)…you wanted a car that was retro…that was old school muscle car but had a splash of Lexus-ness to it.
The car review comparison video was fair. They deemed the car old. It is. Those kids on the video self admittedly like new stuff and better performance. But that shouldn’t be a revelation 😂.
Would you grill a steak or microwave it? It’s true one gets faster results…but you may prefer another method to go from 0-60 is all I’m saying. That’s the reason why we own this car.
Ever start a Tesla?….if it fills your soul then we speak different languages.

Generally in agreement here. I think where the RCF makes sense is in the used market because you're getting a "performance" car that has top notch reliability and build quality and low maintenance costs for 40-50k - in that sense nothing can compete with it. If you were to buy a 2015-16 m3/m4 the cost of ownership would be much higher. If you're buying brand new, I dont think the RCF makes any sense.

Well, I got mine new in 21. Made sense to me cause I wanted a V8 before they were regulated away and I did not want a mustang and generally have disdain for anything made in Europe. I am surprised though that nobody has brought up Aston martin in this thread. Yah, mebe not a competitor since it is way up there in the bucks department.

Interesting to note the point that Doug makes about how car manufacturers including Lexus are bringing back spelling out L E X U S in the rear of the cars. I know some markets for the RC F have a “Lexus” badge on the rear left, I think it makes the car look less sexy when you spell it out. Glad the RC Fs in the US market don’t have that. Also cool to see new cars have the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 S tires starting to come out from the factory.
There are always exceptions but the people buying them new are typically toyota/lexus loyalists...there is a reason the car did not sell well. when I say it doesn't make sense, I mean in 2023-2024 your paying 80-90 USD for a car that was released back in 2014....the market has surpassed the car and there are better options when you are approaching 6 figures.
The aston martin is definitely not a Lexusa competitor, not in the same league at all. The mustang is a closer competitor than any aston. IMO.

Watching that vid (Thanks for linking) I was struck by how similar the RCF is to the db12. Similar shape, similar useless back seat, similar feel while driving...similar exclusivity, probably not on purpose by Lexus, I am sure that they would prefer to sell them like Mustang. But my fave Aston is the SUV with the same drivetrain as the db12. The dbx 707 has my mouth watering.
