Question Your experience going from staggered to square

Hi - I have a 21 RC 350 F Sport RWD with a factory staggered setup 235/40/19 fronts and 265/35/19 rears. I plan to remove the current rears, purchase OEM wheels that match the fronts, and install Yokohama ADVAN Sport A/S 235/40/19 all the way around. Does anyone have experience doing this and can you share any insight on the results? Did you notice any ride or performance issues?
Thank you all in advance.

I have an AWD so I sort of have to stick with square. You ask an opinion, I just love the look of those fat *** tires on the rear of the RWD
RC. So I'm thinking it wouldn't look no where near as badass as the stock setup. Those RWD RC's are just so much better looking than the AWD
as far as tire setups go, I'd leave it be. I might even go bigger on the rear if it was mine. But, who knows?

Haha! Thanks for the reply! I also love the look of the fat rears but not being able to rotate my tires every 5k miles drives me crazy. I’m hoping I can get 30-40,000 miles out of a square set up and that’s my reasoning for moving away from the staggered. If I hate it, I will have two nice rims to sell.

Good point on the rotating part. That will make them last longer and be easier on the wallet. But, those big tires on the RWD just set it off.

17RC350AWD originally came with square setup and later on went to staggered. The difference is noticeable if not very noticeable(really want to minimize the use of the word "very" here) or should I say I felt the difference.

Having said the above, I am being biased since the staggered setup got the Michelin PS4S (summer) and the straight setup got the all season (Goodyear maxlife). When I'm riding with the staggered setup, it really felt the car is glued to the road compare to the square which is floaty.

Cornering - obviously felt the difference, the body roll is minimize if not eliminated. Again, I might be being biased. Two completely different set/brand/type of tires.

Looks - very manly with the staggered setup, and yes, that fat a$$ look from behind really made this car officially a biatch-looking(took this word from my buddies in the hood)

Hope this helps.

Thank you for that information, s3v3n. That's exactly the feedback I was looking for in this post. I'm hoping the Yokohama performance tires I plan on having installed will not be too floaty of a ride.

You'll never know until you drive it. I have some experience with yokohomas and they are not bad. Just don't over inflate them

Why not keep the rears, and replace the front wheels with the 9" wide ones? Then you have the wider rears still, and can rotate as needed. The only thing is you might need to go to 255/35/19 for them to fit up front. That is how I got the OEM RC F wheels to fit up front (with a 5mm slip spacer).

Funny. I have an AWD version and am thinking of selling my OEM set.

Part of the allure of the RC RWD is the ability to have the "fat rears" for me. I actually went up a size when I bought new tires, plus spacers. Just roll with it....these aren't Camrys.
