Has anyone here looked into retrofitting the new style side view mirrors onto a first gen RC?

 

I think its Doable ... but you'll have to buy the whole assembly.

One side whole assembly should cost you about $900 - $1000.

I was able to find both for $900 but I’m unsure if they mount the same. Couldn’t find a pic of the new style side mirror off of the car.

 

i believe the mounts are same just shape is different..

 

I love the new style side mirrors! I’d be interested in this mod for $900. Let us know if you end up going thru with it MikeC.

Yes it can be done. Look over at the RCF forum. You need the new mirror and the base. It's 100% plug and play installation. I believe each mirror/base is around $900. It's one of the reasons why I picked a 2020. The mirrors look so much nicer than the blobby ones.

No.

The mounting base is different. Use the mirror that is meant for the car... Although the mirrors look the same (and for the most part the upper top shell should. The base that mounts on the doors are different. One can use the top shell part.. IE: The CF mirror cap that was on the IS500 DOES work on the face lifted mirrors. IS/LC/RC/ES....etc.. But the bases bolt pattern are different.
