Default Decarbonization?

I went in for my 35k maint and dealer recommended an engine decarbonization. I'd never heard of it and figured I'd skip since its not part of manufacturers service. Sounds like snake oil? Anybody else get theirs done?

Do you have the 2GR-FKS or the 8AR-FTS?

I'd have to carbonate my engine first, before even thinking about signing up for that service.
