Default First two weeks, impression vs my Sti

Hey everyone, again I love our little community on here with all the info, and friendly behavior!

I got my 350 Fsport AWD a little less than two weeks ago. I traded in my 2015 Sti for it.

My impressions so far are as follow:
HOLY CRAP! THIS CAR IS FAST! its not quick, but it is fast! I have had it over 100 just passing on the interstate a handful of times, and I think in the Sti I did that no more than a dozen times ever?
It feels just as smooth at 20 as 90

The touchpad is not nearly as bad as I thought, I turned off the feedback and now its not too crazy to use (I was worried about this feature before purchase).

More people want to talk about the Lexus everywhere I go compared to the Sti, only sti people cared about that car.

All in all I am much happier from a comfort standpoint, and I still miss that pep in the Sti, but I don't miss the car even a little bit.

#1 complaint so far? shoe scuffs on the door sills getting in and out on both sides.
#2 complaint, its an Automatic...

thats a really rough top of my head impression, I couldn't have picked a better car for a replacement I don't think!

complaint #2 about no manual transmission is my number two as well. number one, I got a 2015 f sport and those years did not come with the LSD rear end, the 2016 f sport does

this car would be absolutely perfect if it came manual and with a limited slip!

other than that, lexus really did something great with this car.

I make sure not to hit my shoes on any part of the door sill getting in or out of the car, so far zero scratches.

I enjoy the RC350 FS but by no means is this car fast, it is quick..that's all. The STI has so much potential to be fast by modding them, hence why they're popular.

The RC is just stylish and has a great interior, which is why i personally enjoy the car. It could use an additional 100hp though to be honest. I have it in Molten Pearl/Status Grey and it gets a lot of looks for sure.

Agree, I guess the 15' models have an open diff? It shouldn't be that hard to do a diff swap out of a 16', depending on what type of LSD it is, it might be better to just go aftermarket.

I just tried building 16' on the Lexus usa website and I couldn't even find the LSD as an option or under standard equipment in the F Sport package

I feel like we are saying the same thing here but using different words. I think of quick as the short fast hard acceleration that throws you around inside the car, and during turns. Fast to me is more of a top speed, and I am SHOCKED at how fast I always seem to be going in this car.

But yes from a comfort and style front this car is pretty amazing, someday we might just see an affordable boost option

Glad you're enjoying the car. I agree with the needed 100 extra HP but then again that's what the RCF is for!

Do yourself a favor and get an Apexi Throttle Controller. Between the throttle controller (in red mode), my exhaust and driving the car in manual, Sport + with TCS completely off, the car always feels alert and alive (if that makes sense).

+1 . The car is a bit too low for senior passengers as well. not easy to get in and out for them.

these cars are great touring cars. They could use an extra 100 hp like some have said but this car isn't built for the 400hp crowd. that's why they made the rc-f. anyway, i hope you enjoy it, they are gorgeous cars that are a ton of fun to drive!

You should try it with the RCF!! Doing triple digits on the on ramp already before actually merging on the interstate. Hehe. ... it is a blast to drive!!

You must miss the turbo in your STI and the stick.. But the Lexus looks so good and its very comfortable. Enjoy! Time to mod?

really? I'm disabled and the car is perfect for me, my wife's camry is a pain in the *** to get in and out of.. my 80 year old mother says the same thing, she hated getting in my Camaro because it was so low, she hated getting in the Camry because the sills are too high, she actually commented yesterday how easy the RCF was to get into.

her complaint was the doors are too damn long and she can't reach it to close it once she is in.. the door pull is in a bad location, the Camaro doors were just as long, but the door pull was easier to reach.

The rcf owners also say the same.

No hp is enough after the right foot gets used to the power.

I miss stick but falling more and more in love with the paddle shifters. I agree with the scratches on the door sills but its like every car....

Enjoy the Lex...theres no comparison to an unmodded STI. The looks and comfort alone blow it away.....good choice!
