ATF Thermal Degradation Estimate
I just did an ATF drain and fill, and in a week or so I'll be dropping the pan, replacing the strainer, and of course adding more new ATF fluid.
I plan to do additional drain and fills to get the ATF fluid mostly new.
While reading about the procedures I discovered the manual calls for a reset of the "ATF Thermal Degradation Estimate" when 50% or more of the ATF fluid is replaced.
How critical is it that this be done? I read somewhere that it can affect the shifting parameters.
Is there a way to reset this without Techstream or an expensive OBD scanner?
