Default Auto window rolldown

hey everyone, i’m new to lexus and just picked up a 2017 RC 300 F-Sport and i’m trying to get the windows tinted and i got some questions about the auto window rolldown, i’ve found out you can hold the black button on the door to stop the windows from rolling up and down automatically but is it bad for the seals to open and close the doors like this? i don’t wanna mess anything up just trying to get tint, and if you have done this can someone explain because this is my daily driver and im gonna have to open and close the doors daily

I had mine tinted with no problem. The minor amount of movement did not cause any issues.

Yeah I had mine professionally tinted using Xpel and had the same question for the tech. They tuck the tint further down the window so it doesn’t peel off, especially when still freshly applied. Lots of luxury cars have frameless (I call them boneless) windows. Any experienced installer knows what to do. You don’t need to worry about it. I do however suggest you use Xpel. From what I gather it’s the best material out right now.

I agree with ****; I had my windows tinted by professionals, who deal with this issue all the time. Over the course of 7 years or so, I never had any problem at all with the tint for any reason. Experienced installers know how to do this, and I would caution against trying to install window tint yourself on a car with this configuration.
