Hi my dad has owned a couple Lexus but this is my first. It only has 250 miles on the car most from driving home new and taking it to dealers yesterday. Im not familiar with the history of problems/potential problems they can have. During my first cleaning I noticed a bunch (5-6) white spots on one of the fenders. I then started looking over the entire car and they seem to be all over it. So far local Lexus dealers are not cooperating. I have a call into corporate and I am awaiting a call back. Im just trying to figure out how isolated of an problem this may be. The spots are hard to see in certain lighting, dim lighting (like on the showroom floor) you cant see them, and bright lighting like outside you cant see them. You also can not see them from all angles. I tried my best to photograph and circle them. Just to reinforce how hard they can be to capture, the photo with only one circle is actually the fender previously mentioned which is one of the worse areas. There are 5-6 very close together and I could only capture one. Thanks for any help.
I should also add it is definitely a paint defect. I took it to a paint and body shop to confirm. It is under the clear. They said some form of contamination during the paint process.
Like I mentioned it is a confirmed defect by a paint and body shop. It definitely looks under the clear, smooth to the touch. I tried polish on a small area of the rear bumper it does nothing.
It isnt bird droppings it is over the entire car. It is also smooth etched paint is rough. Also the car is brand new virtually zero miles. Id be quite amazed if the entire car got covered in bird droppings that quickly.
Go bring the car to a professional detailer and see what they can do.
You’re asking us for our opinions on what we think it might be. We gave them. Not sure what your goal is posting, asking for our opinions and us giving you ideas just to rebuttal them.
If you're so sure its a paint defect, go to a body shop and have it repainted for 20k.
Did you buy it from a dealer? If so, I'd take to back and make them explain how this could possible happy and what they are prepared to do to correct it.
Go bring the car to a professional detailer and see what they can do.

Maybe because I already said it’s a confirmed defect? Why would I pay for warranty repair? My question was if anyone else had seen it before. Knowing if it is an isolated incident or a common issue goes a long way.

I've never had an experience like yours on any of my cars over the years Definitely looks like a factory defect with the clear coat. I would be hollering loud and clear with both the dealer and corporate. Good luck with getting this defect corrected.
That is classic clear coat failure. Not something I expect to see on a vehicle this new.

That is what I’m thinking but I’m no professional. I hope it’s isolated because most people are not going to notice until it’s to late. Just from what I’ve tried to research and the lack of responses here leans towards that. I will keep everyone posted on the process and outcome.
I definitely agree with that. I’m curious to see what they say or offer. I’ve already expressed a repaint isn’t something I’d be happy with or even agree to. It would never look the same and would destroy resell value.
