Thumbs up ProLex Performance intake

Just wanted to let you know that the aluminum intake elbow from ProLex Performance is awesome.
The look and finish is first class.
The elbow is powder coated in black for a stock look.
I have noticed an improvement in gas milage and performance.
I have a TRD filter in the stock location in combo with the ProLex intake and heat shield.
Dealt with Mike Clark and the service and promptness was second to none.
*have no vested interest or relationship with the above*

Congrats. I have the system too and like it a lot. So you are using a TRD filter instead of the ProLex one?

Cool

Neo, I bought only the elbow with the couplers.
I ask them If I could only get the elbow, since I already had the TRD filter and they said no problem.
Paid $148 included S&H.

KVA, nice picture, your engine looks so clean you can eat on it.

Does anyone know how the PLP intake compares to SRT and Injen intakes for the GS3?

Can't remember about Injen but you are comparing basically a pipe/filter vs. a pipe/filter/ECU system. The SRT is more involved and it costs more. It supposedly also gives a little more gain. Depends on what you want to spend. The PLP is also a bit more stealth and there is a CARB certification in its future whereas SRT has no plans to. This last part is a big deal for folks here in CA.

I have not been in an "SRT" car so I don't have a real-life comparison. I did notice the throttle being better with the PLP intake on. It is not night-and-day-kick-you-in-the-rear difference but it is there. I am also planning to do FI so I did not want to spend too much on an intake that probably will not be used later.
