How often do we need to change 'Transmission Fluid'. The dealer once said it is sealed and will last upto 150,000 miles but seems wrong to me. Plus, can any mechanic do this service or should I only take this to a dealer.

I treat it like any other transmission - 60k - 90k. Its like an oil change, the sooner you do it the less likely you are running a bad fluid through it.

 

I am at 127k and just got mine done 3x so far. Transmission response is much better and honestly can barely tell the car shifts in auto and in manual the shifts and downshifts are smooth as new!

 

I bought my 2019 GX in April with 37k miles , I did all of my fluids and my trans fluid before I hit 40k miles , I have a good base line to go from and will be changing my fluids often as it’s cheap insurance as I plan on keeping this vehicle for many miles
