Awesome, yep the busted hand thing is worse part about it getting the bottom screw/bolt. Only thing with the diverter valve I wish it whistled more.

Get the tool, So this way you can keep your stock tune, and also you can use the OBD2 connector with TOYOTA Techstream on your car if you need to clear a code or something.

I got the Stage 2+ and TCU tune. they work really good together and the shifts are nice and quick. Do you have a downpipe? If you don't have a downpipe you can only do a Stage 1.

 

No down pipe =( I wanna try to keep my stock cat because I live in Cali and emissions is a pain in the ***.

They have a high flow cat downpipe, but it is hella expensive. I know what you mean about California emissions. Don't blame you keeping it easy. The stage 1 is fun too. They actually let me use that tune until I had put on the downpipe and upgraded to the Stage 2+.
The Downpipe is another pain in the *** to do, cause you have to go from underneath. If you can't do it on a lift that requires jacking up the car etc. I have friends with their own shops so it wasn't that bad just getting all of the stuff by turbo wasn't fun.

This isn't a real tuning car, there is just few mods, I came from SC300/Soarer scene with the 1 and 2Js those were real cars. The IS is lacking power from what my older cars did. I got tired of fixing and finding parts since Lexus doesn't make other parts (body/trim items) for the car anymore.
When the pandemic hit I needed something to do at home to keep my mind busy from going cuckoo. So I started messing with the IS. Actually I had gotten the 200t cause I hate V6s and read that the 8AR was to replace the 3S-GTE, but there is nothing for it and after seeing the things Lexus did to keep us from really adding on it.
I decided I just wanted to make if fun and have some response. If I do anything I may go for a IS500 later or jump on the full electric cars when Lexus/Toyota go that route with something better than a Prius

Back in the early 90's I use to turn wrenches at Toyota and was factory trained right when the mark4 supra came on the scene. We use to mess with the 3TC, 4AG, 3SGTE and then the 1J and 2J motors, it's the only car I will own, That's why I went to Lexus cause Toyotas aren't made in Japan anymore.

 

Wwooooow you have lots of knowledge! I envy you. Yeahhhh I'm only 26 and this is my first car I got it because I always wanted a lexus. The bank wouldn't let me get anything bigger because they think I might wrek it. I have problems of picking car parts or computer parts to very expensive hobbies... I saw the sleeve you got for the tubes I bought some. Also what's that engine TRD cover how could I find some red ones?

It's FAKE, just a vinyl sticker. it was put on there like the TRD TG20 Spec 8AR motor, even that motor has plastic valve cover. Hopefully TRD will sell the turbos. I have vinyl cutter so I can make any sticker I want. I am going to make me my own emblem, I have 3D scanner, gonna scan an extra front emblem I have, CAD it and 3D resin print it with my own logo for the grill, been thinking about it.

 

I bought white reflective vinyl measured the emblem and used my sister cricket to cut out the logo and now front emblem shine when you take a picture
That's dope cad will get you everywhere. You could make anything.

Sound clips of your diverter valve? I have one, never installed it and I'm still not sure if I want to based off the usual concerns people have for it.
