2002 IS300 performance chip from the dealer?

2002 IS300 performance chip from the dealer?
i have an 02 is 300 apparently it makes 294 hp but i find that hard to believe, its N/A stock but apparently has a performance chip that was put in at the dealership before the car was purchased, i mean its quick but not 294 quick. Anyone know if you can even get it chipped from the dealer. Thanks

No such thing. Who told you this number and how did they arrive at it?
higher hp NA is300s with full bolt ons (quality intake, headers, full exhaust) are roughly around 235hp

no such thing, and literally impossible. Whoever told you this is full of baloney.
The absolute most you can get out of a automatic is300 is 190Hp on a really good day and about 235-240 on a manual is300.
This is the only option to tune the factory ECU.

I just got my 2002 IS300, got only 60,000 miles on and was my friends moms car, 98 years old and was driving it on streets only......
What do you think of the performance chips ? they say 60hp + 5mpg improvement......true or false?
Appreciate some advise on getting some more HP + MPG......

False. There is no way to get any HP out of this car without spending a fortune. And this car will never have more MPG.
