Default Most Powerful IS350 Naturally Aspired Recorded

Hi,

I have been trawling through the forums to find the most powerful naturally aspirated IS350 (2GR-FSE) recorded.

What I can find is a few examples of 290-300 WHP such as the forum famous Redspencer, he is inpiration for us all.

Keen to find out what is the most powerful NA 2GR-FSE and what mods it has?

Just out of curiosity what

Thanks for the kind words.

We have another CL member from Thailand (Thannp) that is also FBO + Tuned but goes even further with the engine mods by using a ported lower intake manifold as well as both E20 and E85 fuel. I believe he has the highest NA output for the 2GR-FSE:

Ported Intake Manifold w/ results: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...installed.html

E85 tune: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ne-result.html

Does having nitrous count? I've talked to several members that have said they've used 100 shots before with great results. No knock and no trans issues to speak of after the fact.

How about the 8.5k redline or the 480BHP? Did they get that RPM from stock cam and springs? I Doubt it! At least the springs!
Step on up and be the 1st to have RR flash your ECU to 8000 and make the infamous statement, "hold my beer and watch this".... haha!

What a beast of an 2GR... All internal upgraded to smash out 480 BHP at the crank, respective, it would sound so good closer to the rev limit of 8,500....

Perhaps this explains the pull of my sport bike from 5500 to 14,000 - like an addiction! lol Small displacement engines you can ring out. On bike you get the additional bene of leaning them over vs tire smoke! lol

Is anyone interested in trying to build their own high-revving 2GR-FSE by testing out engine part upgrades offered by Monkey Wrench Racing?

Protip: if you're replacing springs, 26.5mm=1.045". They even sell nifty 24-packs...I can get 3 more sets of these Crowers for the same price MWR's listing.

MWR's markup is insane.

Edit: to put it another way: I can buy a whole new engine by selling all the OEM rockers I have laying around at their price.

I have thought about the cams, but I am iffy about them since they are regrinds. The lack of a dyno or proof that the cams are in a running engine is also off putting. I don't know about doing all the work to have an 8500rpm daily driver. feel like it's not been proven with these cars and we have too many unknowns.

I think a proper performance oriented intake manifold would go a long way for us. I've recently been looking into using a j37 upper and making a lower to match up with our heads but I'm not sure I want to spend the money to find out that we don't have the hood clearance for it. I'm also not so sure that the intake would offer up any significant gains in the upper rpm range.

A new intake will do tons for the 2GR-FSE. You have all the fuel in the world, and a stupidly-fast adaptive spark system. All you need is more air.

Thannp already proved that air is the limitation of the engine with his e85 tunes. If it takes ~15% more fuel to reach the E85 peak, then adding ~15% more air into the engine will yield similar results on dino juice. With more torque.

The snail-shaped transition from the TB mount flange, into the plenum, into the primaries is where you're losing all of your intake energy. Straighten the flow of air from throttle body to intake valve and you win the game. Anyone ever do paper mache is school? Then you already know how to prototype things with fiberglass. Wear long sleeves and gloves.
