Is a tune a must after headers, exhaust
In some cases, there is a need to ship your physical ECU so they can pull data from it. That said after years of collecting data they have pretty much covered them all.
Mine being the last of the 2IS crowd is 1 of 367, 2013 350 RWD's was that case.
I've just been too busy to deal with car stuff but I would like to know if the fuel MAPs can be leaned out to say 12.8:1 or 13:1 and what impact that has on ignition timing vs tq.

1) Older Tune (Ignition Timing Advance at 27.5 degrees and AFR showing 11.5 on the dynosheet) and IS350 setup (F-Sport Intake and Exhaust, PPE headers, OEM midpipes):
2) Revised Tune (Ignition Timing Advance at 30 degrees and AFR showing 13.0 on the dynosheet) and updated IS350 setup (F-Sport Intake and Exhaust, PPE headers, Megan Racing Midpipes):
Note that the WOT pulls on the Old Dyno Graph were done with ECT PWR so the downshifts to 4th gear didn't occur until the 4.5k RPM range. On the New Dyno Graph, all WOT pulls were done with ECT Snow which kept the IS350 at 4th gear at around 3.0-3.5k RPMs.
Peak horsepower didn't increase significantly but Peak torque definitely did.
That is good info! Thanks!
Question; does car's data for AFR support that 13.0 graph reading? I ask as anything from 4k up with say 70% to WOT car reports 12.0:1 which IMO is too rich to make good power! I mean, torque is what moves that car!

Nope. My datalogs also show a 12.08 AFR whenever I go WOT so I can't confirm whether or not the true AFR at WOT is 13.0 or 11.5 with the revised tune file. I can only confirm that my ignition timing advance had changed from 27.5 to 30 degrees.
still works great, no issues regarding it. I haven't been looking at Lexus tunes recently so I don't have any thoughts on the maps offered by tuners, but maybe they could make an extra hp or two depending on your mods. Whether it's worth the extra cost for the custom tune isn't there for me, at least for the 250 platform, 3.5 I'd perhaps consider if you have fbo
