Default SRT Piggyback ECU

Ok guys I need some confirmation quickly. It's Sunday night and I need my car for work tomorrow. All that's left of my SRT install is to put in the ECU. Question; The existing wires, do they need to be removed from the factory harness or do I just remove some of the insulation on the wires, leaving it connected to the harness, and just solder on the appropriate wire from the SRT ECU? Effectively having two wires connected to one point in the factory harness (like a 'Y' shape with the bottom of the Y going to the factory harness, one leg of the Y is the original wire and the other is from the SRT ECU. I want to make sure I get this right because if I don't, the factory intake is going back on.

Thanks

Damn, it's been awhile since i did the install. I didn't have to cut any wires, just tap into a couple.

Give SRT a call to confirm.

Thanks but I already have the diagram. I'm not sure if the original wires need to be removed or just stripped of insulation so the ECU wires can be soldered. I'm leaning towards the latter.

I finally got the intake and ecu installed over the weekend. Thanks to the guys on the forum who gave me some insight into the ECU hookup. I did run into a little snag though. The fitting for the MAF sensor was not threaded so I had to thread it myself. Don't know if anyone else has run into this problem. But anyway the car sounds awesome. It has a nice deep rumble to it that only car aficionados like us car appreciate. During a quick test drive, after letting the engine get to normal operating temperature, I stood on it. This car made a sound that almost scared me! What I like to do now is cruise down the highway at 60mph in 3rd gear and then stand on it. Off she goes! Beautiful. Thanks to all for the help.

OHHHHH NOOOOOO!!!! Somebody else has been bit by the mod bug!!! It only gets worse from here....

Congrats. The great thing about the intake stuff is that even after having it for a long time, I still like to hear the whistle and the growl to this day.

I'm quite happy with it. The intake along with the L-Tuned exhaust gives the car a deeper rumble that can be heard at all times. You can definitely tell the difference between a stock engine and one that's been SRT-ized! The difference in performance is noticable as well. Thinking about doing the mod?

Yeah, but, I don't know if the SRT intake and ECU for a GS430 will work on an LS430. I spoke with someone at SRT and they told me that it should work but, that there are no guarantees.

Be careful.

One of the wires need to be totally cut.

The other wires need to be spliced into the existing wiring.

Follow the diagram exactly!
