To some, sharpening a pencil is a struggle, while to others... getting to the moon is easy.

It depends.

The Aristo has a 4-speed Aisin A340 transmission.

Well, some input. I give a project a complexity rating based on quantity of fabrication, which also usually has an inverse impact to cost. A zero-complexity is usually no-fabrication (and lots of pre-built adapters) yet high-cost, while a 10-of-10 complexity is usually gobs-of-fabrication with minimal-cost.

Trying to stuff something big in to something small, especially if unique, can get a high-complexity rating... engine mounts, trans mounts, diff mounts, drive shafts and axles, cooling, etc, all requiring either skills, or the cash to pay someone with skills.

Then there's "simple" swaps, that will cost you, when all of that will be pre-built for you... some kits with amazing quality. Want to stuff a 2JZ-GTE in to a GS... looks like with proper planning, you can get the correct engine, mounts, harness adapters, etc, and all you're doing is assemlbing assembling it all together. They make kits to swap 1UZs in to Toyota pickups. Or LS motors in to Miatas. Our favorite was the '88-'89 MR2 SC in to a body it never came in, such as a sunroof/hardtop, or '85-'87... the entire project was literally plug-and-play, every nut and bolt, except when it came time to mount the intercooler. A quick weekend-job, if you had a complete SC donor-car.

The complexity is how deep your bank account, and/or how many skills you have. Yet if you want a 2JZ-GTE in a GS... with enough funds, it's a rather simple swap.
