Default Suruga speed PFS Loop sound muffler on IS350

My new Suruga speed PFS Loop sound muffler has just arrived today from Japan!

I was in the market for a new exhaust to replace my old Gready CS exhaust that I sold in January.

Didn't want the new one to be too loud and want the sound to be as clean as possible. Saw some video clip from youtube and fell in love with this exhaust.

Didn't know where to get it so I went online to the Japanese auction site and saw a guy listing it on sale. He said he got it for 2 years but haven't have a chance to install it to his car and he decide to sell it.

I am 1800$ down instantly lol.

After I placed the order, I tried hard to look for information but no luck. Not so many people install them. no review no specification just some video clip in youtube

This is what I got from there official website using google translator

http://www.suruga-speed.co.jp/shopde...5/page2/order/

"Unrivaled design with a wind instrument as a motif and high-pitched sound quality reminiscent of a racing car are the biggest features.
In addition, the idling from low speed range is the same quiet as the stock.
It is a suitable product to call it Special Model. "

Close exhaust noise 90DB ( My guess this is the volume at WOT? )

and a bunch of tip configuration that you can choose

The build quality of the product is amazing. One of the best I have seen so far. Stainless steel on the body and Titanium for both tips. The tips are adjustable inward or outward the body to suite your liking. All of the component are detachable which means it is possible to upgrade the exhaust to true dual with this axel back

I didn't have a chance to weight them but from lifting the muffler during installation I can feel that it is much lighter than the stock exhaust

Installation was simple and hassle free. Everything fits perfectly.

Current setup

ECU TUNED-----Stock intake box----- SARD carbon fiber intake pipe—-PPE header----- Custom made 2.5 Inch SS pipe from header to 2nd cat----- Magnaflow cat----- Stock mid pipe------- Suruga speed PFS Loop sound muffler.

First impression
I am very happy. Although spending 1800$ on a 10 years old car may not be a wise choice to go for but DAMN! this thing does sound amazing when you hear it form the outside and no drone in the cabin. You don't hear much when you are gentle with the throttle but when you press hard all hell break loose. Since it is a brand-new unit I think the sound will change a little bit once it get some miles on it.

I can't say much yet about performance gain cause I only have them installed for a few hours and only a short drive afterward. I felt the same driving it at low RPM will update some more when I spend more time with it.

I have upload a sample video. It was late already so i couldnt do much will do some more vid with a better quality camera when I can.

Let me know if you guys have any question.

PS. 250 emblem is there just to mess with the guy who want to race me on the road haha.

Super jealous! Basically you have the only aftermarket exhaust I've said I'd have on my IS350!

Sounds amazing as expected. Would love to hear more clips when you get a chance! Some acceleration and fly bys would be awesome. I wish I knew about this exhaust back then before I went custom. I found out about it like a week after lol.

Got this from a private seller in Japan he couldn't ship it directly to Thailand so I had to find a shipping agent. The price is not too bad around 150$ ( customs clearance included) but it took almost 2 months for it to get here with ground delivery service didn't want to spend my leg for air shipping haha.

I have a little video update 150miles after installed.

The exhaust is not too loud. Maybe too quiet for some people.

Very minimal cabin noise at low RPM a tad louder than stock but you will hear low tone grow in the cabin. After 2.5k RPM. The exhaust tone changes to a higher pitch and come alive to around 5K RPM then the engine starts to takeover.

One weird thing i found is when the engine is under load and you are accelerate gently you will get a constant tone that is not loud and also quite beefy even at highRPM. However, if you are harsh on the throttle (WOT) the tone will change drastically and she screams like a trumpet. I never seen this on any of my previous exhaust. Maybe its because of the way they design it.

I got quoted for like over $5800 cdn shipped to Vancouver but thats for like cat-back that requires part of the stock mid-pipe to be welded on and that was quoted few years ago... lol only thing I can afford was the Suruga intake...

Default Little update

I got a surugaspeed resonator for IS350 shipped from japan a few day back.

Had a chance to installed it today.

here is my first impression

Lowend does sound very similar when compare with stock resonator but the tone is more meaty got some grunt.

The resonator does add some throrhy sound to the midrange while still contain the same characteristics of the exhaust

Highend is awesome! Now she screams much louder without any raps. I love it haha

Cold start is similar not louder. And no drone at any RPM.

Sound clip will follow. When I have time to recoard them
