Hi, I’m new here!!!!! Can someone tell me why my oil, and water light keep coming on? My boyfriend has already put about 5 quarts. The light went off and then the water came on? I’ve put water and still it comes on. Also my odometer isn’t reading the correct speed and this happens every now and then. Helppppp
If he just poured the oil in without checking the dipstick that could cause engine damage. Make sure you have the correct amount of oil in your car and if you're not sure take it to a mechanic. A few hundred at a mechanic is cheaper than a blown engine
If your oil level light is turning on I would advise checking the dipstick. These motors have a sensor in the oil pan. You should verify whether the float gauge that controls the sensor and/or the sensor itself is working properly otherwise like Muffinizer said you could risk blowing out seals and much more.
