Default transmission

need some quick advice

bought my current car in may this year with 45k on it , i now have 50k ,, when i checked svc history the coolant was flushed and changed , brake master flushed and changed, power steering same thing , i change the oil every 2k and i know the oil was changed by dealer prior to me every 3k but the transmission fluid was never changed

i looked at the fluid on fri and the fluid was getting the dirt red to brown color ,, no burning smell whatsoever but my question ,, do you guys to play it safe should i have the dealer do a complete flush to get all of the possible crud built up on the valve body and in the trq conv out or just a drain and refill ,, my dealer svc guy which i know these guys well suggests being that the fluid was never changed recc i do it for precautions sake..

i still have 2ok to go on powertrain warr and i f i should have trans failure i dont want to give lex corp a reason to dispute coverage

i do just about all the work and mods myself but i dont have that machine that flush stuff out with pressure

what do you guys think

Default Definitely do it

If your dealer does a real flush, get it done. Mine only offered a drain and fill which does about 20% of the job at most toward changing the color back to red.

Second suggestion is ask them if they have a problem with you putting on a trans cooler. If they are OK with it, I would say invest the $100 (incl labor) and have them do it too.

Background - I had the same issue As the second owner I found out later the first owner never changed it. Had it drained twice by the dealer, little color change. Found someone to do a real flush and it looked great. Put on cooler and now it perfoms much more consistently regardless of heat and use. My 2 cents...
