Default What to do for performance help me out

Hello, my Lexus brothas, I just got 2009 Lexus is250 2.5L V6 and looking to do some performance work on it, I'm looking to get an air intake kit and an exhaust system on it. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for performance parts for my car, if you so please let me know Here is a picture of my car

Guess it all depends on what you want the result to be. Air intake and exhaust will make it sound different ( better) But won't turn it into a 12 second car. It is also a good place to start. Budget is probably your biggest enemy as you could spend big bucks to get her to a completely different level.

Congrats on the new ride!

Yeah, I've been looking at K&N but so much money for my car they want like 250-300 for an intake kit for my car, I've been looking at something cheaper like Specter or something like that I just want good horsepower gains in the car like 10-20 horsepower and some good torque gains and Thank you

I've walked that road and if you get 10 HP gains I would be surprised. You might "think" you feel it, but in reality, there might be 4-6 Hp gain. We took a car years ago and starting adding performance parts to it while in the shop with a dyno. Ultimately we got an extra 40 hp and 45 Tq but it was a lot of work and many many dollars.

Other vehicles with substantial more hp gains of 180+ cost over 15K

I would start with an aftermarket exhaust...at least it will sound good and make you think it's quicker.

Yeah that is very true they false advertise saying oh this intake kit will give you 10-15 horsepower gains lol, but yeah ill look into an aftermarket exhaust system for my car, I'm probably thinking Borla or apex for my car something along those line nothing to expensive just something to make it sound good
