Default Which throttle body and shorty header?

Hello CL!

im looking to buy a bigger diameter throttle body, which is popular among CL? And which gives best performance?

also looking to buy headers. Preferably a short header, uneven but with good performance will be what I'm looking for. What's popular?

I don't think anyone really bothers with the throttle body. Headers would be from PPE. Megan racing makes headers as well but unsure if the quality.

do the PPE headers add a lot of noise? i have a loud set-up already, not really wanting to go louder.

Lots of noise for sure from PPE headers, some raspyness even between 2 to 3k rpms.
But man the power feels are so worth it

@lexsense. Checked out your build post in your sig. Sick ride. Any updated pics? @OP. I went to a lexus meet a few months back and some cars had the ppe headers. Loud for sure.

I see that aftermarket headers don't have cats stuck to them. Is that why they're louder? If so, is there a way to add a set of high flow cats to at least quiet it down a tad?

Not entirely. I'm not too sure about our stock versions, but if they're like everybody else's, they're cast iron manifolds and they don't flow too well. Anything would be better. And even if our stockers are still technically headers, I bet the aftermarkets flow better, as do their cats. For me, I bought a Lexus for the QUIET, so if it gets louder then I mind as well have bought a Subaru or Mustang. I bet those high flow cats from PPE flow a lot better than the oem's, and still keep it relatively quiet. I bet with that set up and a tune these cars would be wicked fun lol.

You can order the PPEs WITH the cats. But I LOVE mine without cats (no emissions testing here in SC). I still rock a factory midpipe and axle back exhaust. My intake is louder than adding the headers!

I am interested to know how much is the gain with and without the (high flow) cats on the PPE headers

^Due to today's technology, their high flow cats probably are very efficient at passing exhaust though them. So I'd guess very little difference...a few HP maybe.
