Default Ecu swaps

the wife just bought a 2016 is300
the deal was crazy and they didnt have a 350, not did i want to pay the 2500.00 to do a dealer trade...

question, from all my readings the ONLY difference between the 2 models is the tune in ECU

would it be possible to just swap an ecu from the is350 and have the 305/276 tune?

if i bought an IS350 ecu and had it programed to the car would that ECU have the better tune or would the ECU get defaulted to the is300 tune when programed to the vehicle?

This has been brought up several times by many different people including myself, as far as I know it hasn't been tried.

Any links where this has been discussed in anymore depth? All I can find are posts where people are told it's been discussed and never done yet.
