Smog check with SRT chip & stock box
Has anyone put the stock airbox back, but leaving the SRT chip in place, and pass the smog check? A lot of you have already known that the SRT CAI does not have the CARB legal sticker, so no smog check station would touch it with a ten-foot pole.
I am worried that if I have the SRT chip with the stock airbox, my fuel-air mixture would run rich and make me fail the smog check. Has anyone done this before?

That's right, the first thing they look is the CARB sticker. I told them that I am pretty sure the test will pass, but they said if they see a modification, they need to look up the part numbeer and reference it in their book to verify that it has been certified as legal in California. Since SRT has not passed the certification, this is will not pass the first step of smog check. I am hoping to find some way around this, but I think the best bet right now is to put back the stock air box.
I have called SRT about this, and there's nothing they can offer. As they have stated, they are still
(!) in the process of getting the CAI certified, so they cannot offer me a CARB legal sticker to prove it's emission legal in California. Has anyone passed a smog check in California with the SRT CAI? Please PM me for the smog check station.

Or are people reluctant to share the smog check station because of the legal issue? Or maybe most people don't need to face this issue yet because I own the 98 model, one of the earlier adopter of the GS. If I can't find a smog check station in the southern CA, I have to drive back to San Jose to get the stock airbox. If you know a place that's willing to overlook this, please PM me.
