Does your 3gen IS bounce off rev limiter or auto shift?
There seems to be many differences on if the 3gen IS will auto up shift or bounce off the rev limiter in manual mode, trac off.
My thought is, for those that are interested, AND have PROPERLY tried this and know for sure if their car bounces or auto up shifts, by posting the last six of your VIN (a sequential number that correlates with build date, lower earlier, larger later), and whether you can bounce or not, we may be able to determine if there was a point in time at which this property was either turned on or off.
Example
005228 > WILL bounce
008976 > WILL NOT bounce
If there ends up being a discernible change point, like in example above, then this would indicate, at some point between build 5228 and 8976 this function was turned off.
If anyone is interested in trying to reason out why some will bounce and some won’t, post up.

Reason: Better suited title
No interest in continually running the engine to redline, but in the interest of curiosity, went ahead and tried this out. While in park, hold trac off button down until yellow dash light illuminates, select sport mode, put transmission into manual mode and take off.
Build date July 2013, non f sport > WIIL NOT bounce
Will edit tomorrow when I try it out. I remember it bouncing off the rev limiter on the dyno though.
Car was produced on March of 2014 if I remember correctly.
Edit: Bounces off the rev limiter - did it in 3rd gear normal mode, trac fully off (yellow trac light and trac off message displayed on f-sport gauge)

I'm guessing my build date was sometime in mid-2013 - no clue though.
CJW, look on your driver's side door jam, you'll see a black sticker with VIN info and bar code. See image for reference. Please edit post accordingly when you check as, based on the posts above, I'm starting to think the early builds will not bounce, and at some point, Lexus figured this out and changed the operation.
Mine will not bounce. However, a few weeks ago I got it to bounce without even intending to do so. I was entering a sharp freeway on ramp with traction control fully off in manual mode and I broke the rear end loose so that the car was getting semi-sideways. I stayed in 2nd gear as I entered the freeway to straighten out the car while the wheels were still spinning, and the needle was bouncing off the rev limiter in 2nd. I've tried numerous times to replicate the behavior since then, but haven't been able to.
I'll check my build date later this evening and report back.
Nov 2013, bounces. Mind you mine's Canadian car, not sure if it makes a difference - I don't think so anyways.
1st time me noticing is I was downshifting in M approaching red light, pinned it at green forgetting I'm in M and it kept bouncing in 1st gear, same thing 2nd gear after I shifted. Worked every other time I tried after.
