Would this resolve whining issues?

 

I think you have a bigger problem if your tranny is whining.

 

Thought so too but narrowed down to valve body

perhaps swap out the VB with a used one? They also have the the factory service manual for the A650e floating around on the "Internets" somewhere.

 

Currently looking for a used one.

Found one 2 he away for 100...says it only has 150k miles....it's only 100

 

My guess is your valve body is not whining, but you are hearing the whine resonate through it because the pan is the thinnest part of the transmission.

For what it’s worth, I am an ASE, Nissan, and Infiniti Master Tech. I have never heard of a transmission whine unless it is a CVT or low on fluid.

Sounds like a supercharger whine for 1st 2 gears and fluid is full

 

Whining is usually caused by rotating parts. I suspect it is something such as a bearing in the gearset that is either loaded or unloaded in 1st and 2nd. I will try to find the 650 repair manual online when I get home to see if I can provide assistance.

 

Thanks but the reasoning is, the transmission was replaced but the valve body turned out to be ****. So the old valve body was reused. And the noise was brought over. No slipping or unusual shifts otherwise
