Default Performance mods....

Guys,

Newbie here. recently picked up a 2012 IS350C with 10k miles. Coming out of a BMW 135i that was modded.

What do you guys recommend I do? Any one done either a turbo or SC?
How about suspension, handling and exhaust?

Welcome to CL and for performance mod this ain't the car if your coming from turbo bmw. Basic bolt on apply to these cars. You can run a custom SC but it cost you 5k and there no tune just bolt on. Your can start with suspension most go coilover and f sport sway bar are you bang for you buck feel.

Laobo979 has it right. If the is350 can be tuned, I'm pretty sure it can be a beast with sc or turbo but our ecu so far can not be unlocked.

You wouldnt get much out of a tune even if it were available for USDM cars. Look at the JDM cars that are tuned. They gain what, ~30whp? You still couldnt boost more; High compression engines and no aftermarket support for changing that. Even HKS350 with his piggy back to tune was only able to go up a whole 1psi extra.

OP. Stick to bolt ons unless you'll have the car for a long time. If you'll have it a while...sure, boost it.

Great info thanks. I think I'll go for the coil overs and f sport sway bar. I do intend to keep the car so a SC may be in the future.

So what are the popular exhausts, intakes, sway bars, coil overs? I was thinking about doing f-sport whenever possible but they are a bit pricey.

If you read my sig you will see what I used. The F stuff is pricey but fitment is spot on and high quality.

Great info thanks. I believe I will go with f-sport as much as possible. Except for wheels. I have seen some nice aftermarket like vossen and stance.

I'm not sure if the exhaust is the same for an ISC as the standard IS's so you may be forced of go with an F Sport exhaust. Everything else is up to you but BC Racing, Megan, Stance, Tanabe are some of the more popular coil overs. Definitely get the F Sport sway bars.

Default Mods on a budget... not bad! Have a look.

Have a look at my AWD IS250 build thread with all the mods listed... These were kind of "mods on a budget", but it goes to show you what can be done on your IS with relatively small coin!
