Default What's the loudest intake for the gs

I want a louder intake for my gs any suggestions?

After seeing this video I want an intake... I've decided that I love the sound of an intake with a exhaust and I think a cold air would benefit me in this Arizona 110 degree weather..
I see he used the srt intake with the ECU, any cheaper ones on the market that would give me the same sound?

I don't believe there was. Although I do remember someone using a 90* bent pipe and adding it to the K&N [I believe], making it an actual CAI. Other than that, the closest intake would be the Injen, but I don't believe they made it for the 400, only the 430.

Sweet I have a gs430, is there a link to that? I have some free time I don't think I would mind doing some custom work... When it's 110 here during the day my 0-60 goes down a good 1 sec then when it's in the 80'a at night

I have the Srt intake on my Gs400. On my car when you are cruising you can't really tell it's there. It's just a slight V8 hum. But give it some gas and you grin from ear to ear. It's pretty loud when you floor it. I'm glad I bought mine.

You probably need a intake where the filter in enclosed in a box so your not sucking in the Arizona heat... I myself have the open filter type like most and wish i had the box unless i went back to stock.. A few have cut a hole in the engine bay and extended the pipe and filter so its behind the passenger rear bumper...

I've heard the K&N makes a good sound...

Why there's two tubes?
It has the same part # as this,:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/INJEN-SHORT-RAM-INTAKE-2001-2003-LEXUS-LS430-GS430-SC430-POLISHED-/271493972040?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f364d4048&vxp=mtr
but that has only one tube.

Which one would be better, that or this:

Funny how the shipping costs vary so much. The one you posted Northstyle, has $175 shipping and the one I posted has only ~$55.

I'm pretty sure they just used a generic picture as there's only one pipe for that intake. No clue about shipping though, it showed free shipping to me.

Actually, they both have free shipping to the US, but the one you posted was $12 more expensive.

I hope you just mean behind the front bumper on the passenger side.

I'd like to get the SRT intake for my GS and saw it comes with the ECU part
Are the gains actually as advertised? Anything I should know about the SRT intake before buying it?
Or should I get Apexi AFC & a different Intake?

Do you have a Gs300 or Gs400?
I currently have both cars and both have a Srt intake. In my opinion I think the intake best suites the 300. Nice smooth steady breathing on the gs300. With the 400 it's kind of love and hate. I lost some low end torque. Nothing major but you can tell. But it does make up mid range and it's sweet. Say you are getting on the freeway going about 30mph and floor it to about 80 to 90 mph. The intake is worth it every time. On my car can't speak for any one else. The intake starts to run out of breath after 95 to 100 mph. Especially at wide open throttle. When I was stock intake I could be doing 80 and floor it and 120 plus would be a breeze. Not so much with the Srt intake on my 400. Others have posted similar issues. All that being said I still have it on my car. Because for the legal speeds that I should be driving its worth it. Oh yeah both cars have a Tanabe exhaust also if that matters any. Final thought 300 with Srt intake love it. 400 with Srt intake low end torque lost a bit, mid range perfect, top end runs out of breath results on my car 104500 miles.

I have an injen intake on my 300. I love it. They don't make them any more and I guess I am speaking more for the guys here reading this that have a 300. But if you can get your hands on one they sound great and have helped my gas millage more than anything. And like others have said, from that 80 to 100 range you can feel a difference from stock.

I have a GS400 with a borla exhaust, stock airbox with K&N drop in filter currently.
Does it really run out of breathe @ 100? Like a fall on its face type of deal or a slight difference?
