The magna flow was pricier from what I found. Best bet is to get one used in the classifieds. One of the install threads said the extension is 4" so I am debating just having it welded in up front and hoping it is close enough.

a shop should be able to weld on a 4" extension piece.

Yea magnaflow is about $100 more but I like how it doesn't have those 2 bends by the inlet pipes. Price difference is probably due to the cat. Either way your going to love the difference it makes once you get your Megan pipe on.
I would love to hear a video with this setup. there was a older thread from last year or the year before and the member said that putting on the SC430 pipe actually lessened the sound of the exhaust which I find that hard to believe. I'm happy with mine but if this will give it a deeper tone I'm in.
Just ordered a Megan Y-pipe for SC430 and will be adding the extension to fit it onto my GS400.
If you are extending the Megan pipe, get rid of their Flex pipe, it is the type with the corrugated (ribbed) inside and every car I have ever installed those on (G35, Celica, Civic) has made a funny sound from that type of flex, I had to cut them out and use the flex with either the braid inside or the spiral-lock.

I can tell you that the megan pipe (although I added an X-pipe to it) made my topspeed catback louder - yet the x-pipe made it smoother sounding.
angus- which top speed cutback did you buy? I am looking at both and he tells me the mid-pipe/axle-back system with smaller tips is quieter than the "cat-back" system that has larger tips.
Good to know about the SC430 flex section. I will replace it with a proper lined flex section when we weld in the extension.
