Default Mustang mufflers on GS?

Would mustang mufflers with exhaust tips (stock) fit my gs? Or any ideas where I can get a good muffler/exhaust set up?

Do people forget that a large part of the noise is the engine, not the muffler?

I dont see why not. You'd have to get them piped up to match the exhaust cut outs on our cars. As long as they look good. *****, I have magnaflows with real nice tips off a new 5.0 on my GS, and they look and sound amazing.

Mufflers or lack thereof make a big difference on how the exhaust note sounds. The engine 'noise' only comes into play if you're running stock mufflers or revving up pretty high, but at that point the exhaust (especially aftermarket) is blaring out loud too. For example, the Borla system for the GS400 -- just bolt it on and it almost sounds too quite and you hear way too much of the lame engine chatter (from every youtube clip I've listened to) UNLESS you remove 1 or 2 of the various resonators.

BTW "Mustang" mufflers -- define which ones? If you mean something aftermarket meant for a 5.0 or 4.6, well, any muffler will work as long as you are able to get them welded and fit right (and if they are one of those ghetto tips that stick out 3 feet from the bumper like a '95 Caprice, please back into a wall very hard). How it SOUNDS on your GS is another story. Our 4.0 engines, while V8, may not sound AS loud + beefy as say a 5.0 or 5.7 due to simple the fact that it moves less air/exhaust gases, so you get a really loud but mid range sound, or a deep but slightly quieter sound (mine is halfway due to muffler deletes altogether).

Also, since I love to ramble, another 'factor' in how your car exhaust will sound is the muffler again -- if and how it's chambered vs. straight through fart cans or ovals. If you want some of that muscle like ratat-tatt-att-attt chatter I believe a good chambered muffler might do the trick. Again referencing my car (GS400) -- it only has the 3 resonators and no rear mufflers -- so it sounds a bit droney -- rumbly without much of the beefy 'character' raatatatatatat sound. LOL.

40's tend to have a LOT of drone too unless you setup the right sized resonators -- however they do give that muscle like sound quality.
