i think its basically the same as any other hot air intake for these cars. if you want to get one, jump on it. but there is no real gain

I have the AFE, when I called them they recommended it over the Takeda. I have all the options on the car, so there was a box where the "foot" of the shield was supposed to mount. No big deal, just had to make a notch in the "foots" sheet metal. Not sure what the box was for, maybe the headlight washers? The intake definitely adds the sound, and I do think it helps prevent some fall off on the top end. I fought with a periodic check engine light about too much air at the MAF, but I tightened the screws and it went away. That's the only thing I really don't like about the system is the way the MAF mounts on, but I guess it's ok. No check engine light for a while now. I was being cautious not to strip the tube, so I possibly didn't tighten enough initially. Overall though, if you're looking for sound, go for it. I got a great deal at auto anything with a sale. If I did it again, I'd probably just cut a hole in the stock box and run an F-sport filter.

you didn't tighten enough. i had no errors whatsoever. a year and a half later, i got warning lights and it turns out it was simply because my filter was dirty. its reuseable, so just dunk it in some simple green, let it soak, and watch all the dirt and oil drift to the top, skim it, and viola.......no more warning lights and a clean filter.

overall i like it and the sound. about to couple it with a M2 exhaust.

I'd be very interested to hear a sound clip of the m2 and the takeda.
