As the title suggests, I'm looking for some dyno sheets (preferably Dynojet) for stock or close to stock IS350 AWD models. Axle back exhausts or intakes would be fine. I'm taking a hard look at the 2014 IS350 AWD F-Sport, and I'd like to know how it stacks up against my Stg 2 Legacy GT in the power department. Thanks!

 

Well don't need a dyno tell you hp. It's 306 crank and about 265whp at a 13.4% drivetrain loss.

 

Wrong, the drivetrain loss on an AWD car with an auto trans is well over 20%. If the AWD IS350's ACTUALLY Dynojet at 265whp (which I sincerely doubt), then the 306 crank horsepower is very underrated. I would expect this motor to put down approx 240-245 whp in AWD form . . . just looking for some confirmation.

 

Well on rwd is the 13.4% loss. But as far as I know nobody really dyno these cars. There no crazy hp to gain from these cars. So people don't care to dyno. It's kinda like what your have out the box or not kinda deal. Test drive is the only way to compare if you want it or not.

I've spent hours on Google and in various forums trying to locate an AWD version, but came up dry. I realize there's very little tuning potential on the IS350, but after being available for more than 4 years in AWD form, I'm shocked to not see a single AWD dyno sheet. There has to be someone out there that was curious enough to have it tested . . .

 

Dyno sheets for the awd is going to be hard to find. I wonder if anyone on this forum has done it before?

 

It's kinda waste of money as most will see it. If your not bolting on a SC/turbo to wanna see a huge gain. Then what the point on spending $50 to see what you already figure. People would rather spend it on others mods or a tank of gas. It kinda like dyno a civic why you already know what's there. But if you engine swap or turbo it then of course you wanna dyno it. But OP if you wanna find out buy it and dyno it. Or pay for a local member dyno session if it that important .

 

your gonna have a tough time finding AWD dyno sheets for the 14 is350. AWHP and RWHP also different with in its respects. Just because the same car AWD has lower dyno numbers doesn't necessarily mean its substantially slower.

 

That's the point, I want to know if it's right around 245 whp, or whether the system is more or less efficient than I'm guessing. It also doesn't have to be from a 2014 model. Since the motor and trans are the same, any pull with an AWD 350 would do. (2010-2014)

 

What are you ultimately going to do with these figures? Thinking about trading up to the Lexus?

BTW, I love the Legacy GTs; in fact, it was a tough decision between the IS350 RWD vs the SpecB I was looking at. Deciding factor was the IS350 was $5k LESS!

 

Its gonna be hard to get you an exact figure because usually automatics have a 20% drive train loss but it varies by transmission as well as gearing. Gearing can really put it anywhere from 18% to as much as 35% drive train loss. My friend has a simulator program that came with his dyno that you can put in real world figures to give a rough estimate on how much power a car puts down to the wheels but you need to figure out a lot of variables.

If you can find me a transmission gear ratios for the 350 awd, I can ask him to plug it in and get you a clearer answer.

Compare real world power to weight ratios. And as far as LGT vs IS350, be glad you made the decision you did. The GT's have tremendous tuning potential, but they're poorly built and have a laundry list of common issues. I'm happy to sacrifice a little power and handling for reliability and luxury at this point . . . I'm just trying to nail down how much thrust I'm giving up.

Personally I'm pretty surprised that this info isn't readily available. If you Google "Infiniti G37X dyno," you instantly have a handful of results to compare . . . perhaps the Infiniti guys are just more serious gearheads.

 

^Well, there's a MUCH larger following with the Nissan fan base over Lexus; plus the fact that they are much more mod-friendly.

Don't forget as well that the IS350 has a 4.1 FD gear ratio! It's a beast off the line!

 

lol...I got my IS250 in October and just sold my built '06 SpecB two weeks ago after 7 years of ups and downs. Overall I loved the **** out of my SpecB but I am so content with my 250 right now and haven't looked back.

As far as dynoing a car being a waste.....to some it might be not everyone. Shoot.....the next dyno day we have in there area I'm going to throw up my 250 for ****s and giggles. I didn't buy the 250 for performance.....that is what the 500hp STI and twin turbo Soarer in my driveway are for
