Greddy vs Takeda Intake for 3IS.
I have an IS250 F-Sport and i'm looking to change out the intake on the car. I have seen some posts on the forums relating to the Greddy and the Takeda intake. Can anyone who owns either or kind of help me decide on which one? They both sound great which is makes it harder to choose.

I drive a '14 IS 350 F Sport. Being brand new to Lexus/Toyota, I would hope that aftermarket intakes for our cars do more than look nice and sound great. I've not seen much information posted about HP/TQ gains, or information about the implications of changing air/fuel mixture without a corresponding new tune.
So, two questions: are there genuine (and more importantly perceivable) gains by going to an aftermarket intake, and are they safe for our cars?

That's the problem with this forum - really nothing about the gains or mixture changes. People seem much more interested in the sound. You would think in a forum titled "Performance" it would be a rule to post such information.

I agree with you 100%. This is also the reason i joined clublexus, being that i am a first time Lexus owner. I would love to have more input guys and gals.

A "before" and "after" for the intakes is what many of us have been waiting for. I *really* look forward to your followup posts sc00b.
All manufacturers make the claim of 5-10HP/TQ increase by using their intake. Let's see if there is any truth in it.

Any short ram intake will do this due to the design and increased noise. I think it's the noise of the motor just reverberating back into the aluminum pipe. The stock plastic intake pipe and box absorbs it.
