Anyone try this stuff?I do not believe in cans of fix all,but I have had positive experiences with Royal purple products with thier synlec additive and thought I would give there F.I.cleaner a try.Within 100 miles of mixing a full can of there FI cleaner with a full tank of shell 93 I could feel a seat of pants difference in performance.The last 50 miles of tank it was like a different car,unable to get traction from just punching it from a dead stop(of course with trc off)for like a 100+ feet.Next fill-up it ran better but nothing like those last 50 miles.

 

Were you running soley on the injector cleaner!? haha

I run preventative maintenance on my vehicle by placing that Toyota Genuine Injector Cleaner once every 30k miles. I think it's PRT00289-EFI00. Lexus calls it EFI Fuel Additive or something like that.

you should ask someone to put it in your tank without you knowing and see if you notice anything. I would put money on you not. much like octane booster, i just cant really agree that you:

Totally serious about performance increase.My car has always been very sensitive to temperature extremes,more so than any car I have driven although it has been in the mid 80's.Also my car being a '06 requires me to do the pedal dance to override the traction control which seems to help me launch stronger than using switch on '07+ 350's.The only mod car has is K&N drop in filter.Maybe the valves and injectors were real dirty,but I would not think they would be because car only has 58k miles and I have always used Shell 93 and Hess 93 fuel.The RP cleaner did say mix 1oz /gal and I mixed full can (20oz) with a full tank(18gal).I do not think I was imagining things,but I would like to hear from some one who has tried it in a IS350 with 60k+ miles.

Yeah,20$ a bottle is steep.Only reason I splurged is because I have had a similar experience with their hps engine oil with high zinc and phosphorous that's not certified for new cars under warranty and was asking them if it would be safe for my IS350 and rep said that they had a new fuel injection cleaner that would be out this summer that had the same synlec additive in it that's in the oil.He said both products are great and he and his coworkers use both even in their warrantied cars.I thought I would give it a try and Im not one to believe in cans of fix all.Before this I only used Seafoam in my marine 2-stroke engines as a preventive measure for carbon build up.I have no stocks in RP,but it might not be a bad idea. i

 

If it were my company I would definitely offer some type of aggressive promotion or guarantee on this product.I suspect my car fits into a little niche (direct FI,mileage,ecu calibration,etc)or they could not keep this stuff on the shelf.The rep said it contains synlec(their proprietary lubricant additive they put in their boutique oils)which might help lubricate piston ring tension on cylinder wall ?

 

To clarify a little,the reason I did not get traction for 100ft is that I'm running all season tires,Toyo proxy 4's with 41lbs of pressure.If I had some summer ultra performance tires with 32lbs I might of got 10ft if that,and the differential locked up.If anybody out there can clue me in on how to get this differential to lock up consistently please pm me.

 

I do not use the RP stuff, but I do use the Amsoil PI Performance. I just put half a bottle in the tank and will see if I get an increase in MPG.

 

I have an is350 that I put techron fuel clearner in every 5k miles since 50k. I'm near 80k mileage now. My car still feels the same as day 1. I have never felt a difference, but I do it for the peace of mind. Maybe I'll try the RP cleaner next time to see if it makes a differnce

 

I would be very careful about what you put in your tank. These engines are not like your normal V6 in vehicles. Direct Injected means they run the fuel injectors at 8000 to 10000 psi pressure. If say a additive does damage to the injector, you could destroy the engine in seconds. I'm not saying what you guys are using is bad for them, but just be careful and don't just dump something in the tank trying to gain a couple HP. This fuel system is similar to a common rail diesel setup.
