Default URGENT! Clutch Replacement question

HI Guys,
I am new here Just picked up a 02 is300
The clutch was slipping really bad so this week i decided to pull the trans.

Upon pulling the trans i noticed the stock trans didnt have a TOB retaining clip.
I was wondering if this is needed because my new TOB didnt come with one.
Since its a push type clutch should it not matter? It will disengage just the same?
and the fork wont allow the whole assembly to rotate? is it really needed?

I am try to make it back to school tomorrow so just trying to knock things out today

any input is appreciated
thanks!

Did you align the disk with an alignment tool? It has been a couple of years since I swapped my clutch with an ACT unit, but I do recall that the ACT TOB was not correct and I had to overnight a factory Lexus one. The factoyr lexus TOB came with a retaiing clip.

Disc has been aligned. I actually ended up finding a retaining clip in a parts bin of mine... after the fact
